South Korea's second humanoid robot, named EveR2-Muse, yesterday made its debut as a pop singer at Robot World 2006 at COEX in Seoul.The robot, with the appearance of a typical Korean woman in her 20s, can talk and sing, thanks to an embedded dialogue engine. She sang the new Korean ballad "I Will Close My Eyes For You" during the opening ceremony.
EveR2-Muse, which received enthusiastic applause, will see her singing career flourish. she is scheduled to appear on television and star in music videos, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said.
EveR2-Muse has motor functions, enabling her to walk, stand up and sit down. Her predecessor, EveR-1, was stationary and couldn't move.
EveR-2 is larger than EveR-1; 165 centimeters and 60 kilograms versus 160 centimeters and 55 kilograms.......

The Mars Pathfinder project is one of the first NASA Discovery class missions. It will land a single vehicle with a microrover (Sojourner) and several instruments on the surface of Mars in 1997. Sojourner's mobility provides the capability of "ground truthing" a landing area over hundreds of square meters on Mars. Pathfinder will be investigating the surface of Mars with three additional science instruments (a stereoscopic imager with spectral filters on an extendible mast (IMP)), an Alpha Proton X-Ray Spectrometer (APXS), and an Atmospheric Structure Instrument/Meteorology package (ASI/MET). These insturments will allow investigations of the geology and surface morphology at sub-meter to a hundred meters scale, the geochemistry and petrology of soils and rocks, the magnetic and mechanical properties of the soil as well as the magnetic properties of the dust, a variety of atmospheric investigations and rotational and orbital dynamics of Mars.Source

The main concept behind Honda's robot R&D was to create a more viable mobility that allows robots to help and live in harmony with people.
Research began by envisioning the ideal robot form for use in human society.
The robot would need to be able to maneuver between objects in a room and be able to go up and down stairs. For this reason it had to have two legs, just like a person.
In addition, if two-legged walking technology could be established, the robot would need to be able to walk on uneven ground and be able to function in a wide range of environments.
Although considered extremely difficult at the time, Honda set itself this ambitious goal and developed revolutionary new technology to create a two-legged walking robot.

- Many science fiction movie has shown some intelligent robots.I especially like the one in star war who is called as R2D2, it never makes you disappointed. I would love to have one like this.
