Interesting Facts About the Rain Introduction

Interesting Facts About the Rain Introduction

From a very young age I have always had a strange fascination with the rain. While many of my peers wished it was sunny I found the rain quite peaceful. As cliche as it sounds I really do love taking long walks in the rain and when it comes to being caught in a downpour I am the last person you will see running for shelter. I take my time and enjoy every second of it. My fascination does not end with rain, equally as interesting are storms, hurricanes and even blizzards. In the following modules below I am going to share with you interesting facts about the rain

Interesting Facts About the Rain - Little Known Rain Facts

Interesting Facts About the Rain - Little Known Rain Facts

Everybody knows what rain is but do you know where it comes from? Rain is simply recycled water that has evaporated from our oceans, rivers, lakes and streams. Rain drops form from ice / snow crystals at the cloud level. Oddly enough rain starts out as a flat oval and then as it falls it changes into the classic tear drop shape. Rain drops usually range in size from .02 inches to .031 inches. This rain then can fall at speeds up to 22 MPH. Rain is typically classified into two types light and heavy rain. Light rain is considered to be an accumulation of no more than .10 inches per hour while heavy rain is anything more than .30 of rain per hour.

Interesting Facts About the Rain - Fun Things to do While Raining

Interesting Facts About the Rain - Fun Things to do While Raining

Well I am pretty sure none of you are as weird as me as far as my like of taking walks in the rain so I figured I would tell you about some of the things I like to do while its raining outside especially at night or winter. First of all I really enjoy crawling up in a blanket and read my kindle. There is something pleasant about reading while listening to the rain against the roof.

I also love to sleep while its raining. There is no feeling like slipping into something comfy, dimming the lights and let the rain ease you into a deep restful sleep. I usually wake up really refreshed the next day after doing this.

If its raining during the morning or day then I usually will breakout a jigsaw puzzle or a board game out and spend time with my family.

Last but certainly not least I like to play on squidoo by creating more lenses while its raining. You had to know that would make the list :-)
