Benefits of an International Jet Charter
Using an international jet charter may be the best option to get around in the world. Undoubtedly, there is the luxury factor but there are many other considerations that make a private aircraft a necessity for international travel.
Security
The world is a dangerous place and the more remote the area, the more cautious one has to be. Being able to get out of an area or country in a hurry is a real concern. The incidents of kidnapping internationally is rising. That includes corporate kidnapping and adult hostage taking. Even a Westerner of modest means would be considered rich by many in the developing world.
Having a private plane readily available to pick one up when desired is a reassuring feeling. An international jet charter can get to numerous destinations, stop to pick one up quickly, and return to safety by having the ability to cross borders easily. At the same time, the chartered aircraft could have amenities on board that were not available at the destination. An aircraft can be outfitted with bathrooms, showers, beds, communications, all manner of business travel accessories, or even ambulance type services. All of which could be welcomed if one had to vacate an area quickly and needed such amenities.
Accessibility
Private aircraft are able to get to more locations than regularly scheduled airline flights. As an example commercial aircraft are only able to serve 500 airports in the United States. Yet, people who have access to private aircraft can reach 5,000 airports in the United States. That means they get 10 times as many options to get to their destination. For busy VIPs they can make all the difference.
More Competitive With More Accessibility. Being able to reach more locations internationally means executives and technicians can get to more remote locations than their competitors. In this age of global competition every business needs every advantage they can get. That advantage could be a cheaper labor force for manufacturing and production. Being able to get to those manufacturing plants quickly is important. Or another advantage could be having access to natural resources. Being able to get to locations where the natural resources are gathered would also be important. In either case having access to private aircraft can make financial sense when it gives one the competitive edge.
More Fun With More Accessibility. Many of the world's best and most exclusive vacation destinations are only accessible by private aircraft. Many locations don't want to bother or disrupt their tranquility with the disturbance from regularly scheduled flights. So to get to places like Cannes or Monte Carlo via the air one will have to fly privately. Not a bad proposition for an executive who has business in Paris by day but would like to have fun with the international jet set in the evening. He would merely have to tell his charter company his plans and he could reach multiple locations in a day.
Reliability
Face it, some of the world's airlines are not that reliable. Even in the United States the major airlines have trouble keeping a schedule. But when traveling the world it only gets worse the more remote one gets. Having an international jet charter assures that one will leave to go when one is ready. No missed flights, canceled flights, or connections. This may be very important in some areas where there is only a daily or weekly flight available.
Also, the aircraft used for jet charters will be top flight, given the best maintenance, and only put into the hands of quality pilots. This is because jet charter companies are small businesses that only exist with their investment in a multi-million dollar private jet ownership. The owners have skin in the game. This is opposed to major carriers who have corporate executives far removed from their aircraft fleet. Or worse yet, state owned airlines that have state employees operating the aircraft operations. Even further removed from the condition of their aircraft. This is to say that small business owners will do all they can keep their investment in top shape.
So, as one can see that flying an international jet charter is the best way to travel the world.

An Interview With A International Jet Charter CEO
The following is an interview with the CEO of ExecuJet concerning his company's plans around the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. This interview was taken before the World Cup but he does cover some interesting areas. Among some of the basics he talks about ExecuJet implementing a jet card (detailed below) and arrangements made for the flight crew. Hearing details about the flight crew is refreshing because they are always an important part of any flight- private or commercial.
Ways To Get An International Jet Charter
When a person has decided that an international jet charter is the best option, there are number of ways to go about it.
Jet Charter Company
There are a number of charter companies for private airplanes. However, for an international trip a person should be more careful and selective with who they choose. First, the company should be very familiar with or specialize in international flights. There will be a lot of legal issues flying country to country that the charter company will need to be familiar with. Also, because most international flights will be long-distance they need to be able to have their aircraft serviced wherever they may land. Second, the charter company will have to have the proper aircraft for international travel. Because of the longer distance covered in an international flight an aircraft will have to have plenty capacity for more fuel and more amenities to care for the passengers. Not all companies will have the aircraft to meet the needs of the passengers. Be wary if the company starts talking about too many intermittent fuel stops.
Thankfully, there are plenty of well-established and well-known jet charter companies they can take care of any international flight. Recently, even Delta Air Lines has gotten into the private jet charter business. While other smaller companies can be cheaper, flying internationally is when one will want to fly with the best they can find.
A jet charter company is usually best if a person is only going to take a trip occasionally or infrequently. For those who will be making trips more frequently or regularly there is another option for chartering an aircraft.
Jet Card
A jet card or jet membership is where one essentially prepays a certain amount for private flight time. Typically, a jet card member selects a primary aircraft that they will need most frequently. Then they prepay for a certain amount of hours for that private jet. Because a client prepays they receive certain benefits. One of the primary benefits that a jet card member receives is a much lower rate for a private jet. A secondary benefit is they give priority for scheduling an aircraft, some jet card companies promise an aircraft within four hours of ordering. A third benefit is that though a person will select a primary jet they do have access to an entire fleet of jets if they need a different aircraft for a specific trip. Just like if one needed an aircraft for an international flight but typically flies in an aircraft that is fine for domestic travel.
There are plenty of jet card companies available. Also, because of the commitment made to have a fleet of jets available, one should feel comfortable with any one of them. One of the oldest is the NetJet owned Marquis Jet, ExecuJet has started a jet card service, and even the previously mentioned Delta Airlines private jet program has a jet card plan. This is just a sampling of some jet card companies available.
Jetliners
Most international private jets can fit between 4 to 20 passengers depending on the size of the aircraft. Private jets in this class can be found in the above sources from a charter company or jet card company. However, should the need arise where one is taking a lot of people to an international destination then chartering a private jetliner may be in order. Actually, it could even be cheaper than buying the same number of tickets for a regularly scheduled, commercial flight. Depending on the size of a jetliner they can fit between 35 to upwards of 400 passengers. The good news is that almost all major airlines offer some kind of private charter service for their aircraft. One would only have to look on the website for their charter program.
