First how to pick an affiliate program or home based business to promote:

1) Choose one with a high payout. It is just as easy to promote a high paying product or service as it is to promote a low paying one.

2) Choose one with a clear cut marketing program. They should provide ads, and some kind of training.

3) Choose a company that has good customer service. Try calling or emailing them and see how quickly they respond.

And here are some simple basics that you must have in order to get an edge over your competition, no matter what online business you run.

Here is a brief SEO tutorial.

1) You must own your own website. And the website domain name should include your main keyword.

2) Your site must have meta tags. You should have at least a keyword meta tag and description.

3) You need original content that seamlessly includes your keywords and exceptional sales copy. Your main key word should be in your first paragraph, last paragraph, title tag, and alt tag. Look online for a free keyword density tool and it should tell you if you are on the right track.
