Internet Business Review

When starting a business or looking into an area to market to
it is essential to investigate that market. You are saying
ya ya I have heard this over and over. So why do business on
the internet?

From the reading that I have done to date (2005) regarding the
internet and the number of businesses and users who use it,
I must say it is nothing short of incredible.

The internet boasts more than 55 million web sites on line. That
number is supposed to hit the 600 million mark by the year 2010
and beyond. Incredible. And the actual user/buyer base will be
well beyond 600 million. Do you understand what this means. That
kind of market is astounding. The potential of accessing it
and marketing to it is very great.

With some decent regulation and policing which is needed to
protect businesses and individuals from fraud, the sky is the
limit you might say. So why would you want to market on the
internet. Aside from what I stated above which are very good
reasons, here are some very powerful reasons that are to be
considered as well.

A biggy here is the cost to get started. You can put together
a very small budget to start with and if you stick to it and
stay consistant you will see results. One of the best ways to
get started and get your feet wet is to become an affiliate
and market an affiliate business or product. This way you can
learn alot of the things you need to know and do in order to
be successful online. Once you have mastered some strategies
and you have gotten to know your way around you can apply
what you have learned to other project businesses of your own
creation. Some internet marketing entrepreneurs have as many
as 30 or more websites up and pulling in dollars.

Another very good reason is the amount of people that can be
targeted with your advertising. You would be hard pressed to
get hundreds thousands or even millions into your hardware store
in a month or your candy store or pet store. But an online
store could have millions visit it in one month.

And then there is the selling factor or face to face networking
with potential customers. Alot of people will not take the step
into owning thier own business because they can not or do not do
well marketing or selling to other people. So the internet is a
great place to build a presence that does not rely totally on ones
selling abilities alone. In fact some people might build a presence
that reflects a personality that they could otherwise never pull
off face to face with a customer.

One of the best reasons which goes along with the small budget
aspect is that you can test your ideas quickly and inexpensively
on the internet. This is key because you do not sink alot of your
money in until you see that it will work.

So the point is that the internet is a very large (and getting
larger every day) arena for business. It is dynamic and fun.
It takes work like any thing else worth doing and the potential
for success is huge and not just monetarily either. It is a great
place to share information and ideas too.

Home Based Business Challenge

A home based business is something many people
dream of owning. They imagine all the money they
will make and the freedom they will enjoy. Many
people actually realize their dream.

There are those that turn what they may doing at
work into a home based business. Some turn their
favorite hobby into a business. Many people come
up with an idea or find a business that interest
them and then go forward with it.

Many things come into play with this process of
Entrepreneurship. Making this kind of move is very
unnerving to some because of the bold thrust into
the unknown that it requires, not to mention leaving
the security of a good job.

The best plan of action is to start a business part
time working as many hours on it that you can aside
from your regular job until the business is making
as much or more than the job. Then before making the
jump from your job into full time business make
sure to pay off most or all debts with the exception
of your home. Then put six months to a years worth of
income in a savings account.

I made that leap years ago when I actually purchased
my first business. I must say it was scary. I was
worried about all the things that I would need, such
as knowledge, money, supplies, office location, business
tools, etc.

I was lucky that the person who sold this
business to me actually helped me get established with
suppliers and customers as well as helped me get into
the operation of the business. Basically he showed
me the ropes.

I actually ran my new business from home for over
nine years. My first home based business was a success.

I look back at that experience and try to recall the
some of the keys to my success. I came up with a
list.

First. I found a business to buy and bought it.

Second. I learned the business as fast as I could.

Third. I had a mentor in the beginning to help me
get going. I wasted no time in getting to know my
suppliers and customers.

Fourth. I was consistent in my working hours and
kept learning and applying new strategies to make
things run better and smoother.

Fifth. I took time to enjoy the fruits from my
business. I had more time and money to work with.

I know the two most important factors in my success
were a quick decision and a lot of action in the
beginning.

There are a lot less things to consider when starting
a home based business. It is easier to get going more
quickly. In my opinion everyone should start their own
business but alas there are those who will never give
it a try.

I love the ideal of being independent of a time clock
and a boss breathing down my neck. It frees your mind
up and allows your creativity to grow and flourish.
The idea of designing ones life the way you would
have it.

Some people catch the business bug and end up creating
many new businesses, keeping some and selling some. In
the process they end up making their lives better,
creating jobs in some cases.

As I do business research online I can not help but
see the mountain of Internet affiliate businesses
that are offered.There are hundreds to choose from
in as many products and services areas.

It seems that affiliate marketing is the business model
of choice on the internet today. People are joining
affiliate companies by the thousands, in fact with the
advent of the "multiple streams of income"model people
are joining more than one company as an affiliate.



I am actually an affiliate for some major player
companies on the internet myself and find it quite fun to
work on building my internet presence with blogs, link
exchanging, articles, list building, video, forums free ads,
paid ads and more.

I like the work and it can be done from any place at any
time. The only draw back for most people who choose to
enter the affiliate scene is usually time. Most people start
part time and are likely to have a regular JOB.

This puts a limit on the amount of time available to
build a business. The cool thing is that it can be done even
if just one hour per week were available to do it. Money
is usually not an issue due to the fact that most affiliate
businesses can be started for next to nothing in up front
cash outlay.

A great benefit to starting an Internet affiliate business
is the huge amount of information to be had online, and
a lot of it costs nothing.There are of course hundreds or
thousands of tools that can be purchased to assist in
building an online affiliate business many of which are
designed to make the process more stream-lined and
hands free. Many of these very tools are offered through
affiliate programs.

In fact one great resource for internet marketing tools
is Clickbank, a large online store if you will, for digital
products. It is very easy to sign up and use. Someone
looking for a good product to sell as an affiliate could
start by checking out Clickbank's database of products.
You can use Clickbank to sell your own digital product
as well.

I like the Internet affiliate model. I can set one affiliate
business upget an email list going, do some low/no cost
advertising and get it making some income and then
move on to another one. I always make sure it is making
money before starting on a new one though.

Billions of dollars are being generated through affiliate
marking each year on the internet. No wonder that it is
an alluring way to make income. Some affiliate marketers
are doing very, very well and have been able to leave
the usual 40-40-40 plan of life which is work 40 hours
a week for 40 years of your life just to end up living on
40 percent of what you where used to when you retire.
