People that have started in a network marketing business are trying to figure out how to get people interested in their business. You always hear "The money is in the list" or  "Push Button income.." This is usually a farce because real internet marketing takes skills.

What Not To Do!

I can tell you what not to do, quit trying to recruit every family member and friend to your business. Even though you know that your business is the best thing since sliced bread, until you reach a measurable level of success, your pitches will fall on deaf ears. Even worse, the closest people in your life might not really want to be around you because you would always be pitching them on your "business". Posting your business any and every where that you can find is NOT MARKETING and it does not work!

The shift has to be in the focus being on our "business" to you. Scary huh? Even though your business may be viable and profitable, there is nothing that separates it from the ten million other businesses that are clamoring for your prospects attention...nothing different. The difference has to be you!
The focus has to change from our great and all powerful business, to the skills and resources you offer to bring a difference to the equation.

    Also your points on patience are also important. I really grappled with this for a long time. It is important to wake up everyday with enthusiasm, but not to get discouraged in the slightest if the day doesn't end with a pot of gold.

    It took me abou 9 - 12 months before I really started making a decent income.

    Your point about what not to do with friends and family was an extremely good one. I tryed and nobody wanted to help (until the checks started flyin in of course, and even then they still did poor work and only seemed to be wanting a paycheck).

    Currently I am helping my dad start his own business, and even he didn't want anything to do with my career, until he lost his job, then he was ALLL ears.

    True Ken... Frankly, I no longer have any interest in network marketing for any product that cannot stand on its own without recruiting others. I too lost friends when approaching them to hear the pitch, and can't bear that. Ok, maybe they weren't TRUE friends who knew I was just trying to make my life better, but it stung, nonetheless...

    Hey Kathy, I do understand what you are saying. I have found that remarkable products are a necessity. I still mainly focus on people that the product will help. I thought internet marketing skills, genuine ones was a good topic that many people can use. Thanks for the visit and hope to see more of you.

The Difference Has to be You

You need to do a list of what you can bring to the table. Your skills and abilities will be the deciding factor.
People DO NOT CARE how great your business is, there are many "great" businesses out there. They want to be connected to some one that has skills, skills that will make a difference.
People want to do business with those they know and trust. They also want to be in business with someone that has the skills to help them succeed.
The internet does level the playing field, but to be the "go to " person for business you will have to develop some skills that separate you from every other recruiter and business owner out there.

Desire will move mountains

The desire to develop the skills that make you a valuable resource will change your business and life forever.

Develop and share these skills freely and new people will flock to you. You have to start with a skill set and work on it until you are above average and can share these skills with people to help them start developing the skills also. Pick one and focus on it, master it.. read about it, practice it, become effective at it and then you can share the skills you worked so hard for.

Provide resources to everyone, not just focused on your business.
Be the resource person, the person with skills and pretty soon you will realize that many are following you developing their skills also and growing your business.

No list? No brand? No problem. Just start today, pick a valuable skill and before you know it you will have attained a level of success you never thought possible.

Use your imagination and pick skills that are you. Focus on what you love and it will repay you over and over and over.
