It Isn't Easy Being An Internet-Grandma

Being a grandmother is a wonderful thing. I am so blessed to be grandmother to Kathryn, Kelley, Kristen, Jordan, Jackson, and Christopher. They have lit up my life for the last twenty years. Being an Internet-Grandma is a different story. Sometimes it's not easy to learn - and retain - all this new-fangled internet stuff at the grand ole' age of sixty five. Why, I even have a blog now, Internet-Grandma.blogspot.com.

Grandma's Internet Tips

Pass it forward.

Do you have any tips that you've learned along the way that might be of help to another grandma who's just beginning on this internet adventure? Drop a note in the Guestbook and leave your tip there. We will start a list of tips.

Other Grandmas Who Got A Late Start

I am encouraged by the fact that I'm not alone out there in cyber-space. I know there must be others like me - over sixty and venturing out into the unknown of the internet for the first time. Drop me a note via the Guestbook below and tell me what you're doing. I'd like to add your name to my list of grandma's who've achieved internet success. By success I don't mean money - although money's good - I mean being able to get a blog going when you previously didn't even know what a blog was. Or building a Squidoo page. Or...

Grandmas Who Excell In Other Professions

Beginning At Age Sixty Or Above

The first one that comes to mind for me is Grandma Moses. She was 84 when she began to paint. How encouraging that is for me since I'm an aspiring artist and just began oil painting lessons last year.

Some women go back to college to complete their degree. I remember reading about one woman who had always wanted to be a doctor and began college with that goal in mind after she had retired.

And do you remember President Carter's mom? Didn't she join the Peace Corp at an advanced age? That takes courage.

61 Year Old Woman Creates Skin-Care Product Line

Anti-aging and healing natural skin-care product,

I've just read in my hometown newspaper about a new skin-care product, not only created to enhance beauty, but healing as well. And the best thing about it is that it was created by an older woman. She now has a website where she sells her product, REGEN DE PEAU II and is on her way to success.

She not only wants to achieve financial success but wants to start a foundation to help children who have suffered from burns.
