The most common Marketing Scams and Buying Triggers today.

Whenever you search for something on Google, you will fall into some of the most common marketing scams on Internet today, and they aren't even concidered as scams by the Internet Marketers!

I will reveal the most popular and, in my opinion, unethical marketing strategies used to trigger people to buy worthless products.

The purpose of this page is not to undermine the value of serious internet marketing, fellow affiliates, affiliate networks or others trying to provide valuable information, products and services. In fact, the purpose is to help you as an individual to be able to distinguish valuable products from worthless products, and serious marketing from unethical marketing.

Reviewpages

This is how affiliates learn to set up reviewpages.

When you see a reviewpage on the Internet, you would expect the alternatives to be seriously investigated by the site owner. The truth is however, that the site owner in many cases haven't even tried the products or read the books himself.

One of the most popular Internet Marketing Strategies tought by "experts" today, is to follow these steps:

  1. Find a Niche product to market, like "weightloss without dieting".
  2. Sign up for a ClickBank account, or some other affiliate network.
  3. Find products that match your niche, at least two, maybe three of them.
  4. Put up a reviewsite where you (simulate to) review the products.
  5. Rank the product with the highest commission to be the best product.
  6. Now focus all your time marketing your reviewsite.

Salesletters

How Internet Marketing "Experts" teach you to put up Salesletters/Minisites.

Salesletters are often found on so called Minisites or Landing Pages. This is where the Internet Marketers are grabbing your attention in order to make sales.

Salesletters is a great way to market a product, but what I've discovered, is that most of them are stuffed with LIES, LIES and even more LIES.

KILLER HEADLINE:

- See how YOU can earn..... every single day
- This is the secret about.....
- This is what....... don't want you to know
- This is the shocking truth about...
- The secret..... exposed
- Finally a solution to....

Whenever you read a headline like this, be alert.

CHECKBOX QUESTIONAIRE:

- Are you fed up with diet programs that doesn't work?
- Would you like to lose weight without exercising?
- Wouldn't you love to have the body of your dreams?

A "TRUE" STORY:

- I used to be dead broke, working as a coctail waitress, then I discovered....
- Let me show you how I became a millionaire using....
- I got rid of all my debts within the first year, just by....

TESTIMONIALS:

Testimonials are "customers" telling how satisfied they are with the product, or how the product changed their lives.

Often, the testimonials are written by the website owner himself, backed up with pictures of people found on the Internet. There are actually websites that sells testimonial pictures!

PICTURES OF CHECKS AND BANKACCOUNTS:

They show you pictures of checks and bankaccounts to prove how much they or their customers earn. (It only takes a small adjustment in Photoshop to falsify the numbers.)

LIMITED OFFER:

To make you buy on impulse (and make you afraid that you will regret losing this great opportunity), they put a limit to their offer.

- One time offer only. When you leave this page, you will never see this offer again.
- This offer only stands for 1 day. After that, the price will go up to $...
- Because of limited capacity, only the first 100 to sign up, will receive this offer.

A TRUE BARGAIN:

- These are products worth $... You get them for only $...
- We use to charge $..., now you can get it all for just $...

Do you really think anyone would dare to sell those products charging even half of what they claim it's worth? Do you think the products have ever been sold for that kind of money? Nope...never...

The truth is that they wouldn't dare to sell it for more than the price they are offering you as a "bargain". As long as they charge you a relatively low amount of money, the less likely you are to claim your money back or take legal actions against them.

GURUS AND EXPERTS:

Often the author or founder is presented as "the well known......expert, Mr. ....."

Try to search this so called expert on the Internet, and see if you can find him anywhere else than mentioned in other sites marketing the same product.

Ebooks

Do I need to say more?
  • Find some information about a topic by searching around the Internet.
  • Collect some of it and rewrite it in a texteditor like MS Word.
  • Convert your word/textfile to a pdf-file
  • Charge $$$ for it as expert tips
  • Set up an affiliate program on ClickBank
  • Market like crazy both the product and the affiliate program

The truth about Affiliate Networks like ClickBank and PayDotCom

Promoting worthless products and opportunities

They call it "digital products", I call it "junk".

So, where do you think you will find all those Salesletters and Ebooks I've mentioned above? Well, you've probably guessed it already: ClickBank, PayDotCom and other affiliate networks. The vendors need affiliates to promote their lousy products, that's why they target honest people trying to make a living online.

What do you think a lot of those "Make-Millions-from-Internet" do to maximise their own profits?

They put together an e-book or some other types of lessons on how to earn millions on the Internet.

In the lessons you learn how to earn millions by marketing the exact same lessons as an affiliate through ClickBank or another affiliate network.

Scads

Some Internet Marketers actually believe they will make a ton of sales if they use brandnames or other headlines in their Google Adwords ads, that doesn't represent what they are selling. Doing this just piss people off, and will make the advertiser seem suspicious. Those ads are called SCADS.
