Well, here's a story that I guess is fairly typical for many people, it's pretty much how it happened for me.

You crack an invite to this 'amazing' can-not-lose make-big-money-quick deal and no, they can't tell you what it is about, you have to come to the meeting.

"Nothing to loose" I figure and arrive, strutting my long-dead sneakers and last century's jeans. A weird bunch of wild-eyed, overdressed, strangely formal people are milling about. "Stay," I say to myself, "don't run but stay near the exit."

While 'Sponsor' chats up her mates, I drift off to explore. Holy smokes! An apparition in body-tight lycra cycling kit, seven badges pinned to its chest, descends upon me; one of those pompous, super-slick, fast-talking, pain-in-the-butt jerks: "Can I help you", "Who invited you?" he rattles off, "freakin' moron" I label him for future reference and quickly put as much distance between walnut-face and myself as I can.

Turns out the man is a walking, talking billboard for some cycling event (hope you lead the pack just before you take a tumble!)

Well, it seems you're not supposed to know anything at all about this company or their products. No, it's is some kind of big secret. No brochures, nothing.

So what's the deal? "Oh, when you sign up you get a complete business kit with a set of brochures and prices". Oh, OK then.

Inside, a bunch of super-hyped, chin-wagging, arm-flailing freaks are doing a lot of talking, a lot of clapping and a whole lot of jumping out of their seats, "This must be some kind of a cult, I wonder what they're on?" They're all swivel-eyed and bouncing off the walls!

All of them are world travelers and they all have these amazing businesses that's making millions! Really? I bet it's not so shiny below the surface if you scratch a bit.

Later I discover that 'Sponsor' is a chain smoker, sneaking off into the car park for a fag at every chance! One of her mates is a humanoid blimp as wide as a double garage with a huge, flabby stomach that's hanging way below his belt, gross! I bet he hasn't laid eyes on his manhood in decades! Then, the badge! "Wellness Coach!" Wellness? I'm floored! I somehow don't think we'll be building a million dollar health business thingy together buddy!

But wait, this guy was just on stage, a world traveler with an amazing business that's making tons of money! The same for Mr. Cycle Pants! Well blow me down! Clearly true business leaders then! How do they do it? Or is this the fake-it-till-you-make-it brigade in action?

It's all very easy they say, you just find five, each of whom finds five. They in turn each find five and so on - you see, easy! Yeah, right.
