Internet Marketing is not a get rich solution for people who have money problems. But very few of the people looking to start an online business seem to realise or are prepared to accept that fact. Many people wanting to have an online business forget and that is to have an Internet Marketing Strategy. Without a plan any business can fail very quickly.
It will be possible for you to have an online business but overnight success is not normally experienced, and the last thing you need to do is start with the final step of IM. Don't start by expecting to understand how to get traffic to your site when you have no idea how to build a site, or even know what you are going to sell. Take your online business seriously, just like you would an offline business. Imagine if you were going to the bank to raise the finance to run your business, would you go with no details or strategy? No!
You need to plan, but you also need to do research and thorough research at that as well. There is no point in trying to sell a product that you don't approve of or have an interest in. How can you pass on your enthusiasm for a product, if in reality you disapprove of it?
See what people want, there is no reason to sell yesterday's product which is now out of date. You will get some money for it but you will get a better return if you sell something that people want today. This is where you have to research. There is plenty of material online which will help you, and don't stop researching. By researching you will be able to keep up to date with market trends, and be able to find your niche and sell to the public.
Make plenty of notes during your research, you won't know when those notes will come and help you in your projects, and even in developing your own product. Next time you are looking to start a business in internet marketing, don't ask question which belong to the end result.

Affiliate Marketing as an Internet Marketing Strategy
With affiliate programs, you can earn almost instantly. Choose an affiliate program, pre-sell the program's products, and once you refer a person who becomes a paying customer, you earn commission.
Most affiliate programs do no require any enrollment fees. Simply sign up and you can start promoting the affiliate merchant's products immediately.
The key task in affiliate marketing is pre-selling. Pre-selling is very different from actually selling the goods. You won't have to prepare a sales page. You won't have to set up a payment processing system. You won't have to take care of delivery. You won't have to concern yourself with refunds. You won't have to ensure an efficient post-sales service.
These are all the responsibility of the affiliate merchant. All you have to do is to promote the products and lead people to the affiliate merchant's sales page via your affiliate link. The affiliate merchant will take care of the rest.
There are some steps you will need to undertake to start earning from affiliate programs. These steps include:
1. Enrollment with an affiliate program. You have to select the best affiliate program for your needs. Here are some guidelines:
Choose affiliate programs that have hot selling products in their inventories. This will make your job easier.
Choose affiliate programs which have good standing in the industry. Do they pay well? Do they pay on time? Do they provide enough support for their affiliates?
Payment scheme. Some affiliate programs have preferred payment processors which may or may not be amenable to your means. Check beforehand if you can actually receive payments from the program. If not, inquire if special arrangements can be made on your behalf.
2. Getting your affiliate link. Your affiliate link is the link that you will have to promote to internet users. Internet users will HAVE to click on your affiliate link so that they will be taken to the affiliate merchant's sales page.
3. Promoting your affiliate link. There are many, many ways by which you can promote your affiliate links. There are hundreds of internet marketing techniques you can explore to maximize the exposure of your affiliate links so that you can garner the most number of visitors possible.

I have a weakness for reading but if this is one of the ways to make a successful Internet online business, I'd do it and it's all because of these e-books that are featured here!
