Network Marketing and the Internet: A Match Made in Heaven?

I have been in the network marketing industry -- well, in and out --for some seven years now. I became a rep with three different companies, with very different products, each time thinking that each 'new company' would finally be my ticket to success.

Hopefully you're not already laughing at me...it never really was the company or the product. I failed at being an effective salesperson and marketer.

Just this past year, I was introduced to The Renegade University training program,, based on the marketing principles of Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg.

This web-based network marketing training academy has provided me with step-by-step instructions for leveraging the power of the Internet. It has also challenged me to become a leader and mentor in the new frontier of Internet Network Marketing.

Why I Became a Renegade Network Marketer, part one...

What is a Renegade Network Marketer exactly?

Well, we are networkers choosing to use a completely different path for finding new business partners. This is done by applying the philosophy of Attraction Marketing. (Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg are the prominent mentors on the subject.)

Although there are many different companies represented among us, and many different personalities and skill levels, we all have ONE thing in common: we were burned out, frustrated and broke, as we worked our tails off to build large mlm downlines using person-to-person selling. If you've been in the industry any amount of time, it's also called 'warm market' selling. You know%u2026the list of your friends, family, cousins, and co-workers that you are trained to prospect for your new business.

Most of us are just not good at - or all that comfortable with - this type of sales approach. People are increasingly bombarded with sales calls, junk mail, junk emails and bold, in-your-face major media advertising. As a whole, I think people are tired of it and just don't like to 'be sold'. (I sure don't, so I have to assume that others feel the same!)

Think about the last time you had to purchase a new or used car. Even though you needed the car, you initiated the whole transaction and actually went to the dealership, you still probably didn't find the process of the 'sale' all that appealing. You endured it, however, because you wanted and needed the product as a result.

Now, when new network marketers are trained to immediately go out and beat the bushes, to present their business opportunity to everyone within three feet, it's no wonder that it's not effective. This type of selling completely skips the whole part about someone actually wanting to hear about your business or your product ahead of time. Naturally, whenever someone launches into a sales pitch, completely out of the blue, they feel like they have just been accosted by a telemarketer. Most people approached (or surprised) with a business opportunity sales pitch immediately put up their guard and are just not interested. I always knew there must be a better way.

I have been in three different mlm opportunities over the past seven years, each time falling for the idea that all I had to do was 'share' my product with people and it would magically 'sell itself'. Since I knew that sales was not my strong suit, I figured that 'sharing' would definitely get some good results. Well, I shared. And I shared. And I shared some more. I passed out business cards and 'shared' them with hundreds of people. Bought magnetic signs for my car, to 'share' my business with the world. No surprise, it did not get me a single sale. I got fed up and quit.

And yet, I knew that the network marketing model was as strong as ever for creating lasting residual income - I couldn't find the key to my mlm success story.

Then I came across a copy of Ann Sieg's '7 Lies of Network Marketing' free report on a traffic exchange site. She totally had my attention from the very first sentence of the report%u2026

"Dear Friend, if you feel like you're struggling way too hard to make it in network marketing and nothing is happening, I wrote this book specifically for you%u2026" and "almost everything you've ever been taught about building a network marketing business is pure BS!"
