Are There Any Real Programs to Teach Internet Marketing Out There?

With so many programs out there that offer unreal promises of wealth and turn key operations, how can you be sure which ones are real and which ones are not. I believe there are ways to make money online, but we have to "trim the fat" so to speak.

Real, Honest, Online Opportunity

I have been into affiliate marketing for awhile now, with limited success in the beginning. I have, however, been able to learn from some of my mistakes. When it comes to affiliate marketing, obviously the product has to have value. Another thing I have struggled with is promoting product vs. service, although either can be successfully promoted if we advertise correctly. But the biggest problem I have ever dealt with is successful advertising. From Adwords to blogging and everything in between, it is absolutely the most complicated and frustrating part of marketing. With everything there is a roadblock, limited budget means limited exposure, large budget with wrong placement means limited exposure, and so on. I am sure you know what I am talking about. I have been involved with so many scams and paid for so much free material in the beginning of my marketing career, its embarrassing to even try to count. It has paved the way for me to be able to weed out the scammers and empty promises that are flooding the internet today. Do a search for "make money online", "work from home", "online business", or just about any term that can be associated in any way with online marketing and watch the stacks of cash, Ferrari's, and gobs of testimonials pop up. Not to mention the affiliate review sites, I have a real irk with those.
In my honest opinion, any sites with words like "automated income", "get rich quick", etc, are a no no. I have wasted countless hours and dollars on sites like this and have never got rich or broke even for that matter. Most information on these sites is available for free online anyway. It actually boils down to picking a product, advertising, and watch money roll in, its that easy. Yea right, there is so much more to it than that. Your advertising has to be seen and clicked, your product has to be valuable, it has to be bought, budgets have to be made, and so on. It is not easy and I needed help, finding and listing advertising sites that work, having more experienced people to talk to, a professional website, a good product, you must have these things before the first dollar is made. It's quite discouraging for the new marketer. There are free resources out there, one I have found is Internet Income University, it's free to join. This site has amazing free resources, forums, affiliate advice from experienced marketers, and something they call a F.A.S.T. start program. The program is a step by step way to succeed. Obviously success in marketing is possible, I just like a little help from time to time. Thanks for reading and good luck. If you are interested in this resource, click on the links below.

List Building

Building an email marketing list.

If you were anything like me starting out, marketing lists were not at the top of my to do list. As time went on I realized that this is one of the most, if not the most, important thing you need. The great thing about lists that I couldn't wrap my head around years ago is that these people want to receive offers from you, not just surfing and click on an ad, actually targeted and interested. Honestly, I am not a good list builder. I promote things that I would or do use, its honest, but sometimes it doesn't generate as many leads as I would like. That's OK because my leads tend to stick around longer than most marketers. You can promote high commission junk and be successful, that is absolutely fine with me. I have done it and it has worked, but I like my way, so I guess it really depends on your business ethics among other things. I said I was not good at building lists, and I am pretty sure I am not the only one out here who isn't. I get 90% of my leads from programs I promote with automatic signings, what I mean is the enter name and email for access to the product. I have tried my own "from scratch" opt ins without much success, so use what you got and build from there. Try to be as honest as possible with your leads, promote good products, and don't get discouraged at unsubscribes. There's really no right or wrong way to generate leads, its just important to keep as many with you from one campaign to another, that's why I try to send out recommendations for decent products and sneak in high commission products occasionally. This keeps leads around longer and holds their interest. Try to find affiliate programs that help with lead generation and save them in a email file, keep in touch with them and send personal sounding recommendations. What I mean is try to connect with them instead of treating them like a number in your business, it works and they will appreciate it. This seems like alot of work, but as you will learn, it is absolutely necessary for a successful marketing career. I use Internet Income University, its free to sign up and has free lead generation. It also has great free resources, free website affiliate optimization, and much more. Go sign up, its free and generates free leads so you have absolutely nothing to lose. Thanks for reading everyone and come back daily. As always, feedback is appreciated. Good luck.

I see you are just starting out and wanted to wish you luck. I started my first online business in 1998 and now earn a very comfortable 6 figure income. Be careful who you take advice from. Many don't have much more experience than you do and are just trying to sell you anything to make a quick buck.

I absolutely agree with SaraLynn. If I was forced to guess at a number of scams versus legit businesses I would say the scams win about 95 to 5 percent. You can make money online but its going to take a lot of work and patience.
