I'll show you what mistakes you may be making, then tell you what to do to fix it.
Here's the pattern of the typical internet/network marketer:
Spending money you don't have on a home-based business. That's it. This path leads to the necessity of giving something up. A sacrifice of some sort.
You'll spend money on the "usual" stuff your upline will advise you to. Always with good intentions as they aren't aware of any other methods.
You'll buy genealogy lists, leads, sizzle cards, place ads, mail CD's to your warm market, purchase and distribute magazines or other company produced advertising, etc. You're told to keep using them until you figure out how to sponsor new reps. Eventually you start to feel like a failure when you don't make a sale or sponsor someone. The pressure of failure when you desperately want something to work is immense and even debilitating. Now, these methods do work as long as you're NOT on a budget and can master the techniques surrounding their use. If you're like so many new marketers, the budget is precious and you can't afford to make many (if any) mistakes.
If you persist on this road, you're budget and belief will run out way before you arrive at the success you're searching and working so hard for.
Here's how the "newbie" prepares to start their new business.
A budget of say, $500. per month is put together but it's only going to last 3 months. The HUGE question is:" What are you going to do with it?"
Using the information from our upline, we put together the following:
"$500 will buy me 200 leads. From those leads, I can surely sponsor 5 new reps and then I'll have my money back. After that, it'll all be profit!"
Here's what actually happens. You sponsor 4 people. They do nothing. The rest of the leads may have been gotten cold or some of the phone numbers were not valid. The reality is this: The list you bought has also been sold to a number of other internet marketers. THAT'S how list broker make their money.
Your budget for three months isn't going to yield financial success at this rate. Once you've exhausted your 200 leads, you're done. Without enough sales or sponsorships to recoup your investment, you're done. Here's the fallacy - you're thinking if you can buy just one more batch of fresh leads, surely you'll sponsor that "big fish" and everything will be fine. Guess what? So did I. I caught my share of workers, but I didn't know about marketing the right way. I learned from my upline. It wasn't their fault. It was mine! I didn't learn more about what worked. Instead, I relied on what I was told.
All that work feels like we're doing something, and we are - it's just not the RIGHT something.
Here's your payoff. Remember, there is no "magic bullet" or "secret" for mega-success. But there is a "solution"
Becoming truly rich, like a one way ticket to a vacation destination ;-) requires that you understand and APPLY the key used by ALL millionaires.
That key is..."Leverage".
Millionaires invest their money into resources than can be used over and over again. Some with very little intervention by the owner. Autopilot you might say.
Learn from this contrast: Let's go back to your $500 budget. BUT... you only have that for ONE month. Not three. How will you spend it?
Sadly, most marketers will throw it away the very same way we've just talked about.
Here's how to graduate from novice to professional, REAL FAST. Ask yourself...
"How can I leverage this $500 into something that will serve my business for months and years to come instead of blowing it on another single shot?"
Whether you realize it or not, there is an unlimited amount of traffic and leads for your business right now on the web that doesn't cost you a dime to tap into. If you know how to access it, you'll never have to buy another lead again.
I would use my $500 differently. I would learn a new skill set. Develop new knowledge that I could leverage over and over again. It's the only source of real power in any industry. Without it, you're at the mercy of less effective and more costly options. I.E. Buying leads.
Without that knowledge and power, you're merely an employee. You're controlled by those who do have it. If you want to eventually have an unlimited budget to expand your business, you need to learn new skills.
