Internet Network Marketing - Combating Information Overload during Your Internet Network Marketing Training

As you begin to learn the concepts and techniques that make up internet network marketing, one of the hidden dangers is a case of information overload.

There are so many things to learn during your internet network marketing training, if you are not careful you can suffer from a case of "paralysis through analysis." You take in so much information about marketing your network marketing business online that you end up overwhelmed and do nothing.

It does you no good to purchase all of the latest courses, learn all of the latest techniques and spend hours reading the posts on the discussion forums just to turn around and do nothing to build your business.

Always remember, you get paid for one thing and one thing only in this industry:

Begin With The End In Mind When Promoting Your Network Marketing Business Opportunity

When getting started in internet network marketing and promoting your business opportunity online, the first step for you to avoid information overload is to begin with the end in mind.

What is your goal? Are you looking to sign up more retail customers? Are you looking to recruit more distributors onto your team? Are you looking to recruit a higher caliber of distributor onto your team?

You need to know what it is you want to accomplish if you hope to have success in building your business online.

Otherwise you will find yourself scattered and not making progress in your efforts.

Don't Wait to Master Everything about Network Marketing Online

Too many people feel they have to wait until they have mastered everything before getting started. This is natural because this is what we do in school. However, this is a big mistake when building your network marketing organization online.

Most of your important lessons, the ones that are going to make you the most money, will be learned as you begin to take action.

Michael Phelps didn't learn how to be the greatest swimmer in the world by attending poolside chats alone. He actually had to take action and get into the swimming pool.

Lance Armstrong didn't learn how to be the greatest bike racer in the world by reading a manual on bicycle maintenance alone. He had to get on the bike and learn how to ride.

The same applies for building your internet network marketing business. The best way for you to learn is to actually start attempting to apply some of the principles that you are learning.

What Should You Do First with Internet Network Marketing?

You should do whatever task you feel you are able to do at this point in time. For example, if you don't feel comfortable getting on camera and talking, don't do video marketing just yet.

If you feel you are great at networking with people online, perhaps you want to try your hand at using social networking web sites like Myspace, Facebook and Twitter.

Many times you don't know what you don't know. That means you don't know what you need to learn in many cases until you actually try to implement this stuff and see where the gaps are in your learning.

This is why it is important for you to take action and begin trying things. You may mess up and that is fine. However, that's the way you learn what you need to learn and improve upon.

Even better; find a step-by-step resource that shows you exactly what to do. Finding the right training program makes the job that much easier. Look for one that matches your learning style and budget. Choose one program to follow, stay with that program long enough to master the basics, and then, if you need to, branch out to other programs as well. Just take it one step at a time. Then implement each step.

Network Marketing Training - Time Management Strategies

When running a network marketing business there are so many different tasks that you can spend time on.

Spending time on the right tasks make you money. Spending time on the wrong tasks costs you money.

Therefore if you want to be a successful distributor in network marketing you must learn what the right tasks are for building your business and how to prioritize your time accordingly.

Of course there are some tasks that might be lower value that you HAVE to do anyway. At the same time you don't want to be spending more time on these tasks than absolutely necessary.

Every successful leader in the network marketing industry has learned how to properly manage their time when building their business.

The 50%/25% Rule of Network Marketing BusinessTime Management

When building a network marketing business there are basically two ways you get paid. You get paid when you personally sign up a new customer. You also get paid when someone on your team signs up a new customer.

Therefore one of the biggest challenges when building network marketing opportunities is balancing your time between making sales and recruiting personally and helping your distributors do the same.

One time management strategy that you may find beneficial is the 50%/25% rule of time management in network marketing. Here is how it works:

50% of your time should be spent building your own business. This means finding your own prospects, doing presentations for your own prospects, signing up your own customers and recruiting new distributors personally.

Too many distributors get into "management mode" where they spend all their time telling their team what to do but they aren't leading by example.

What happens when you do this is your team begins to notice that you aren't personally producing. They start to manage their team following your example and now your group is headed for disaster.

The other 50% of your time should be spent helping your team. Keep in mind if you have a small team or you have a lot of leaders handling most of the team work for you, take some of the team time and apply it to your personal business building time.

How To Spend Your Personal Time Vs Team Time In Network Marketing

This is where the 25% comes into play. The 50% of your time you spend on your personal production should be divided in half as well. Half of your time should be spent getting prospects. The other half of your time should be spent contacting and following up with prospects.

So for instance, getting prospects can consist of posting ads to Craigslist, adding friends on Myspace or creating a video to submit to YouTube. Contacting prospects may consist of calling some of the leads you generated from your Craigslist ad.

On the team side, the 50% should be divided up as well. Half of your time should be spent helping your team personally produce. The other half of your time should be spent training your organization or plugging your team into training available.

What does helping your team produce consist of? This is where you do 3-way calls, conduct live recruiting conference calls, help one of your distributors figure out where they are going wrong in the recruiting process, etc.

As for the training, this is where you are doing training calls for your team or perhaps doing live training in person for your team.

If you balance your time accordingly you should find yourself more successful in building your network marketing business.
