Celebrities speaking out on interracial dating

When celebrities are into interracial dating, I used to think that people would accept it more because of their celebrity status. However, more and more celebrities have had to defend their interracial relationships to the larger public. Kim Kadarshian had to speak out in favor of interracial dating. And most recently, Angela Simmons, daughter of the legendary Reverend "Run" Simmons had to do it too.



Angela has a Caucasian boyfriend she started dating recently. And her dating outside her race has not been accepted by many. People have been criticizing her interracial dating and she decided to blog about it on Global Grind gossip website which is owned by her uncle and rap mogul Russell Simmons to tell those against interracial dating and particularly those who disapprove of her dating a white man to rise above their hate.

She goes on to say that she has noticed and is surprised by the massive number of people who seem to disapprove of her interracial relationship with her new boyfriend. Much as interracial dating is somewhat a hard to accept reality, Angela says that she can't help but notice those long and hard stares that people have been giving them%u2026 "%u2026 and those stares are usually from my own people!"

"Honestly, I wish everyone could benefit from the beauty that can come from experiences that happen outside of your own comfort zone. It is truly a beautiful thing that can add so much to your life. Give it a shot and you can learn so much from a person you never thought you'd talk to or have something in common with. I'm not just talking about dating but about all types of relationships%u2026basically what I'm saying is love everyone. Rise above the hate."

Interracial dating certainly is a great thing and it ought to be accepted more in the U.S. since we like singing about this country being a melting pot. I love the fact that many young people and many celebrities are speaking out in a bid to defend their interracial relationships and interracial dating in general. I love the positive messages they are putting across.

As long as someone is happy, who are we to judge their trying "something new"? For those of us against interracial dating and never dated outside of their race, may be its about time we followed Angela's advice: "%u2026 give it a shot" before criticizing and forming opinions about something you have never experienced.
