The Meaning of Intimacy

Was is the meaning of intimacy. The dictionary defines intimacy as " aa close, familiar, and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship with another person or group." Somehow that does not do it for me. Intimacy is more than this somewhat sterile definition.

But then how should we define intimacy. The answer: you know intimacy by how it feels. Once you have ad an intimate experience, its meaning becomes simple and evident. It is the making of intimate connection that seems to be what life is all about.

But each of our human experiences with intimacy is different. That is what we wil explore on this lens -- the wide varieties of human intimacy.
