Jim Parsons, Investigative Reporter for WTAE TV in Pennsylvania Explores Fudgie Wudgie Non Payment

One stop shopping for all things related to the investigation by Jim Parsons of WTAE TV into Fudgie Wudgie and the claims of non-payment.

All across the USA, there are claims of people who have worked at road shows selling Fudgie Wudgie fudge, who then were not paid in a timely manner. Because my husband and I are part of that group of people, having worked the 2011 Valentine's Day show in the Killeen HEB store, I have some extremely strong feelings about this story on WTAE TV. This story has already aired, but we were not able to be a part o the presentation because there are no WTAE TV affiliates in the Austin Area.

Bob & Janelle Kleppin Staffed the Fudgie Wudgie Road Show at the Killeen HEB Store, Feb. 2011

A Brief History

Bob and I answered an ad in Steve Anderson's Workamper Hotline and were recruited by Bruce Deling of WTT ENT (Working To Travel Enterprises) in late January of 2011. We were assigned to the Killeen HEB, where we were trained by Rob Solomon, Director of Business Development at Fudgie Wudgie, inc.

We did not receive timely payment, which I noted on the website I'd been developing for our Fudgie Wudgie activities, fudgiewudgie.info.

I expressed my dismay on the website, and got a call from Rob Solomon asking if I'd been writing derogatory comments about Fudgie Wudgie, and was ordered to take down the website as it looked like an official site. (Despite the fact that it said clearly that it was the story of Bob and Janelle Kleppin).

We finally received a portion of our commissions, but the total dollar amount was short of what we had been promised. At the time that Mr. Parsons was interviewing people for this report, we had just begun the process of filing a claim with the Texas Workforce Commission.

UPDATE: As of May 2012, we have been successful in obtaining a judgement in our favor, and are awaiting payment on the TWC ruling.

My husband and I would never have agreed to do the road show if we had known about this trend. Nobody would willingly work for free or less than minimum wage. If you know anyone who has been affected by this company, please share this page with them. Thank you very much!

I completed 3 roadshows for Fudgie Wudgie in Costco and Sam's Clubs. The fudge was expired and old. They demanded I pull the expiration date labels off the boxes. After the shows, they either ignored my call/.emails or made up ridiculous excuses. That lasted a few months until I threatened to go to COSTCO and reveal that the company was selling expired fudge and removing expiration labels. They also used the same big sample logs of fudge from one Costco to another. /gross/.They finally sent my payment.

Good luck. A friend of mine faces similar issues with Cedar Point, unfortunately it would cost more in court fees to fight these slave drivers than they owe him.

This is the fudge that is sold at big State fairs? All the best for recovering what you are owed.

I don't know where all the fudge is sold - the fudge itself is very delicious, it's only the business practice that leaves end sales teams lacking full and timely payment that is bad.
