The Art of Invisible Baking and Decoration: Cupcakes
This page was originally intended to describe the art of invisible decoration, but then I discovered an appalling lack of information abounded about the entire culinary subject of invisible cupcakes, and so I have extended the recipes to cover those as well. The benefits cited for invisible icing obviously extend to invisible cupcakes, and one can mix and match.
It's up to you whether one has invisible cupcake and icing , or invisible icing and plain cupcake base. Obviously the former is the fancier option, but if you aren't feeling quite that daring, or really need to use up those plain cupcakes you seem to have on your hands, then plain or flavoured cupcakes with invisible icing will still add that extra flair! Invisible cupcakes and standard visible icing is not, however, recommended.
A minor downside of course is that they won't taste of anything - but if we're being honest, we all know that taste is the least important factor in cupcakes!

How To Make and Decorate Invisible Cupcakes
Simple, easy to follow, steps for making and presenting your invisible cupcakes

I am going to assume that you are making the full invisible cupcake - if you are starting with plain cupcakes and simply decorating them with intangible sugars, or see-through sprinkles, or other forms of invisible icing, then skip step one.

Imagine invisible cupcakes.
-Decide what kind of flour and texture they have - whether they are wholemeal, white, organic, stoneground, or any other variation [optional]
- Create any intangible fillings or other additions, such as nuts or chocolate chips [optional] -
Select your cupcakes (Invisible or otherwise)
- and arrange them in cupcake liners of your choice [optional]
- on a plate or stand that complements the intended setting [optional] -
Get out a mixing bowl [optional step]
- add no sugar or flavouring
- mix with dehydrated water - To decorate them, decide what kind of icing they haven't got and what they don't look like. Ice with the result from the previous step,

But the fact remains. Presentation, as with all baking for social occasions, is an important factor. You must carefully consider the amount of cupcakes you imagine you have, and how you would like to arrange them. Also bear in mind that as they are invisible, greater attention will be focused on the plate or stand, and so that item must be able to stand up to scrutiny.

Consider a beautifully decorated plate, or a graceful stand, such as this one. - This was one of the funniest and cleverest 'cupcake club' lenses I've ever read and enjoyed it so much back during my angel flight last Fall.
