We are the ionians!

Overall, we're an active bunch. We have to be to work off all the cookies Megan is always making! Our last "team building" (if you can call it that) was a surprise group spin/yoga class. There we lots of groans over that one. But look what we've accomplished in the past few months -- team members have participated in various charity races throughout the community including:

American Heart Association Heart Walk
Boca Holiday Mile Run
C.H.A.A. Saints 5k
Miami Half-Marathon
Nike Women's Marathon
Run for Miracles 5K
Susan G. Komen Run for the Cure 5K

Little-known facts about ionians

Things you might be surprised to know about the ion team
  • Jessica once co-hosted a morning radio show during an internship with a broadcast company in Wilmington, NC. Fun! No wonder she's so good at helping us craft our podcast material.
  • Our brush with fame...Bobby's uncle Joseph Rigano has appeared as a mobster in the films Casino, Analyze This (where he appears in the first scene with Robert Dinero) and Mickey Blue Eyes. He got into acting late in life, after going to an audition on a dare from friends. Inspiration to start planning your second life in entertainment.
  • Megan is both our marathon runner (two marathons in the last few months, including a crazy weekend during which she ran a half marathon on Saturday and a full marathon on Sunday), and our office baker. Cookies, brownies, anything sweet and you can count on her whipping up a batch in time for the next holiday or meeting. Also, Megan dressed up as The Incredibles "Elasta Girl" for Halloween. That was a moment we wish we had captured on film!
  • If you're looking for a good chess game, sit down to spar with Mike. He's a former chess teacher, and is always looking to get his game on. Chess isn't your thing? Ask for a juggling demonstration -- he can juggle balls just as well as he juggles a myriad competing priorities and projects.
  • Parlez-vous francais? Sandy does - it's her first language. Which sure comes in handy when she's riding the waves on her surfboard or catching sailfish at 6:30 in the morning. (Yes, she would live on the water if she could!)
  • If you are looking for ion's fiercest competitor in the sports ring, it might be Julie. Volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, you name it, she's done it. These days, she's taken to the less competitive yoga for recreation.
  • Another brush with fame! Head on over to NetFlix to check out an oldie but a goodie....Clint and his wife were extras in "Me, Myself, and Irene" starring Jim Carrey and RenĂ©e Zellweger at the Ben and Jerry's factory in Vermont. In between takes on set, Clint keeps himself busy fishing with his two Boys. Plus, there's photography, tennis (Justin and Clint have a standing Thursday night match!), basketball, coaching T-ball, and going to the beach. Whew.
  • Susan's our world traveller, having visited every country in the European Union. And makes a quick trip to New York every time we blink an eye. When she's not busy packing and unpacking, she's often found at the dog park, making new friends.
  • Ethan has triplets. Not much more to say on that topic, he's too busy trying to get some shut eye or warming up the formula!

The Heart Walk 2008

ion's Sandy Hascoat, Julie Diano and Jessica Frobel took to the streets and raised lots of moola for the American Heart Association.

The Heart Walk 2009

Did you know that heart disease and stroke is the No. 1 and No. 3 leading killers, respectively, of American men and women?

For the second year in a row, ion walked to raise funding for research, education and community programs to help combat cardiovascular disease.

Great job Sandy, Julie, Jessica-and of course-our newest walker, Susan Delz!

Bobby and Mike Scale the Wall

Bobby and Mike reach new heights at the ion spring event (which also included a grueling laser tag battle and a fast-paced bumper car extravaganza).

ion spins

Our second ion spin class was a great success! After 60 minutes on the bikes, we were ready to get back to work.
