Iowa is a relaxing place to live, the climate is fairly decent from spring to fall and the only drawback is the sometimes harsh winters but hey your in Iowa the weather will change again. We have great schools, low crime rate and the Iowa House of Representatives passed the Iowa Grandparents Rights bill that shows that our state government does listen to it's citizens on occassion.
You can fish the streams here without having to worry about polution. We have a huge whitetail deer population and many species that were endangered are now off the endangered species listing such as the American Bald Eagle, we have had sightings of cougar that have been missing form our state since the 1800's and if you can't find something to do in Iowa than you just haven't looked hard enough. We have biking and hiking trails, snowmobile trails and fourwheel trails and clubs. We have some absolutely beautiful state parks such as Backbone State Park complete with rustic to modern cabins available for stays, lakes for swimming, fishing, boating and areas for picnicing with your family. We have retail outlet malls, huge shopping centers and employment opportunties if your willing to work.

I live in Iowa, and was born here. Iowa seems backwards and slow to others, but I believe there is no place on this earth that is totally perfect.
I consider Iowa the very best place possible to raise a child that will have common sense, a good work ethic, respect for elders and family, and a wholesome foundation.
We may seem backwards, and talk slower, but we are a friendly bunch that makes the time to say 'Good Morning', and makes the effort to know our neighbors.
Large city, small town, or farming area; we are known to come together when someone has had a crisis and help in any way we can; even if it is just to bake a loaf of bread or cookies.
I love Iowa. I am very glad that I spent 10 years away from Iowa, for that helped me have a more experienced view; but I am proud to say that I am back in Iowa, and proud to be an Iowan.
Gods Love and mine,
Deb ~ Flower

I lived in Iowa for three years and was bored silly. Everyone dressed alike, owned the same cars, and it was a very homogeneous population. I missed rich cultural diversity.
