Me and My iPhone

Ranked #2,659 in Squidoo Community, #227,902 overall

I LOVE my iPhone!

....and since I purchased it, it has become an integral part of my life! I would likely be very lost without my iPhone!

The capabilities possible in one small, user friendly and easily transportable device make it an asset for the busy individual, and I would like to share some of my most useful applications (apps) with you!

Camera Plus

Snap happy? I am!

Camera PlusThis app didn't cost me a cent!

This app makes it a little easier to take photos than the original application that came with the iPhone.
It allows you to zoom in, take a timed shot, provision to add more light into the photo as though you have a flash, and quite a few more.

There is a Camera Plus Pro app also, which you can purchase from about $1.99 AU last I checked, but as far as a free app goes, I kinda like this!

ShopListFree

Save yourself some time, and dollars, by planning ahead

ShopListFreeI really do love this app!!

It enables you to create a shopping list that gets saved in the application on your iPhone, but it also lets you tick off the items as you find them, clear the list of collected items, and start a new list based on items you have entered previously.

You can categorize your shopping list into things like home wares, dairy, meat and fish, tinned food, fruits and veges, drinks, frozen food, baked goods, candies, or none! It's really up to you.

I especially like that when I have items outstanding on my list, a little number shows on the main screen with the number of items I have to purchase. It also means I don't have to worry about losing a bit of paper in the depths of my handbag!

P Tracker Deluxe

That pesky Aunt Flo needs keeping track of!

P Tracker DeluxeOk lads, this is one where you might feel uncomfortable, but let's face it, menstruation/periods are a fact of life.

This application is exceptionally useful for keeping track of that monthly visitor, as well as allowing you to document the symptoms you experience throughout the lead up, during, and after your cycle. It can also be turned into a pregnancy count down.

You can send a weekly back up email to yourself with the data, which can be instrumental if you have to see the doctor about it.

Guys, you might be interested to know that there is a companion application for the partner, to let you know when a little extra TLC might be in order.

There is a free Lite version, but to get the full benefit, I would recommend coughing up the approx $3.00 AU for the full app.

Party Planner

Because even those last minute parties should be catered for properly

Party PlannerThis free app is a must for anyone who likes to host an event of size.

By answering the simple questions of how many people will be attending, how long will the party last, the drink preference, and are they a bunch of 'heavy drinkers', this handy-dandy app will calculate how many bottles of each drink, the ice, and the mixers you'll need to purchase.

Very useful for the budget conscious!

Emoji

for some picturesque pics to spice up your texts

Emoji applicationThose that know me know I like to add as much expression to things I send them in writing as possible. So what better way than to include some super cute emoticons!

Emoji is another FREE application available through the App Store, and it has not only adorable little faces for just about any occassion, but numerous other icons that suit every other occassion you can think of!

Sweet animal faces, hotels, a bride and groom, a heart that twinkles adoringly at you from the screen, not to mention a groovy little Christmas Tree - these are only a few that I can name off the top of my head. Seriously, if you like to add to your text messages, this is the application you have been waiting for.

Get some iTitude to go with that iPhone...

Ring tones

The chorus is not always the best suited bit for a ringtone...

RingtonesFor the music fanatic in you.

Don't you hate it when the ring tones you can purchase/download for your iPhone isn't the best 30 seconds of the song?
Well, now you can capture your own favourite 30 second clip from any song you have uploaded into iTunes, and make it a ring tone to personalise your iPhone!

It's free, and very simple screen dumps with instructions. I now have an ever growing collection of ring tones from some of my favourite songs!!

Spellathon

Supporting good spelling, and a great UK cause

I came across this app courtesy of Mr Stephan Fry.

Some of you who know Mr Fry know he is passionate about language, and has a most impressive vocabulary!

Spellathon is "A DigitalGiving Production", which both helps people of all ages learn to spell better, but also helps raise much needed funds for Mencap, The Voice of Learning Disability. It is globally sponsored, and open to people from all over the globe.

Basically, it's an online spelling bee competition, but while you get to show off your education and spelling prowess, you are also promoting awareness and helping raise funds for those affected by learning disabilities in the UK.

I'm an Australian (loudly and proudly), but I am passionate about giving children every chance for the future, irrespective of their gender, race, class, or country. If this sort of game is something you'd like, please give this a go.

Have fun and while helping others - sounds like the last line of a certain Australian service club mission statement that I know of...

Textropolis

While we're on the topic of spelling games...

Another spelling game, but this one's purely fun orientated.

Fancy having the sound of explosions in the back ground, which coincide with you finding another combination of letters within those available that spell different words?

It's one of those types of games. And I think it's great guns - er, funs!

Screen Cleaner Pro

What a bunch of cuties!

If you haven't seen one of these adorable little guys before, you've been living under a rock.

Does just as it says, but from the inside.

You have to check it out.
Just sayin'.

Temple Run

perpetual running game

I was looking for something easy and free to keep me occupied on the train to and from work.

I found Temple Run. And now I'm addicted.

You start out as some Indiana Jones wannabe, and as you collect more points and coins you are able to purchase alternative "runners" - most of which I think are puns on various literary figures of a similar nature.

Funnily enough, you wouldn't believe how sensitive the iPhone's internal sensor is for being shaken and turned and bumped around - until you try to play a game that uses that functionality on a Queensland Rail train!
