iPhone HDR review
Have you heard about HDR photos? These are the High Dynamic Range photographs applied with greater amount or range of light to dark. That means dark areas can be really dark and light can go to the maximum. This can be achieved either by computer manipulation or by using professional cameras that allows HDR shooting.
The good news is, iPhone4 has now HDR capability!
So how is this done really? By placing it in HDR mode, iPhone captures a photo into three kinds of exposure (I mean the brightness or the darkness of the photo). This exposures are underexposed, normal, and overexposed. It will then combine those three photos and produce a high dynamic range photograph. The bonus is, it also captures a standard (non-HDR) photo in addition to the HDR photograph.
The next question now is, is this iphone HDR feature worth something? Does it work like a professional camera? To answer those questions, let's make an iPhone HDR review:
iPhone HDR review # 1 - iPhone HDR performance in motion
Either when you as a photographer or the subject you are capturing is moving, the iPhone HDR feature might not work well. You might see some ghosting effects that can be made by moving objects.
iPhone HDR review # 2 - iPhone HDR on fucosing subjects
The key to having your HDR photo look right is by focusing the subject well. iPhone HDR feature will be having a hard time combining those three photos that are blurred.
iPhone HDR review # 3 - iPhone HDR on light conditions
iPhone HDR feature works well in a bright environments compared to dark. An example is that if you're photographing your dog against a bright sunny day background, iPhone HDR features works well. But if your taking photos of your wall that is properly exposed, then iPhone HDR feature might not work well.
So that's our iPhone HDR review. All you have to do is play around and experiment with your iPhone camera in HDR mode yourself. By keep on shooting in this mode, you'll soon master what is good and what is not suppose to be.
In our iPhone HDR review then, is it good or not? Well for me, it's not bad. Maybe there are some limitations but you deal with those as long as you'll learn how to use your iPhone HDR feature properly.
Nowadays, even professional photographers are using iPhone4 in their jobs. iPhone4 is also the most used camera in Flickr. This shows that mobile photography is getting really better and more popular. iPhone4 is already good but there are rumors that iPhone5 will be coming out soon. If you can wait, that will surely be a lot better!
Lastly, I wanna tell you that you can even make money with your iphone camera.
