iPhone Universal Remote Comparison
We are going to compare the available Universal Remote attachments for the iPhone. If you haven't seen these yet, your going to want one! These are getting really popular.
OK, to the good stuff already!
To the left you will see one of these iPhone Universal Remote attachments. That's all it really is... a small attachment for your iPhone (except for the RedEye, which is actually a really awesome (and expensive) WiFi version for your whole house. More on that later. They are a super portable "plug it in any time" type of gadget. I'm going to list the most popular to least popular below, using bullet points to outline the reason why they were rated what they were. Also, right now as I'm writing this, all of them are on sale on Amazon.com - so I will provide links to their Amazon pages. And in case you are wondering, good news! These WILL work with your iPod and iPad as well. Shall we continue?

First up - Re iPhone Universal Remote Control
* This one takes first place in my opinion because even though it's not the cheapest, the technical support is great. If the code you need isn't in the device, give a ring to technical support and you can expect it to be added soon, possibly in a few hours! Now that's service. Other brands don't boast this feature.* Several reviews on Amazon.com with a total of 4 stars right now.
* It wont break the bank. On Amazon.com you can pick one up on sale right now for about $60.

Second - L5 Model A1 Remote for iPhone
* Even though you can't get the type of service like the Re iPhone Remote above, You can still program the code yourself. Not always a quick task according to some reviewers though.
* It will not fit on an iPhone4 with a bumper.
* Has over a 4 star rating by 19 people on Amazon, the best rating so far for these gadgets.
* It's only about $35 on sale through Amazon.com right now. On Sale: L5 Model A1 Remote for iPhone.
Third - IGI IRB-1 i Got Control Remote Adapter
* Does pretty much the same things as the L5 mentioned above, but you need to be running OS 3.0 or higher.
* By looking at its design, probably wont work with a bumper also.
* Reviewers on Amazon.com give this one 3 1/2 stars out of 5 reviews.
* A little more expensive than the L5, this add-on will cost you about $50 on sale.

Last but not least - RedEye Universal Remote System for iPhone
NOTE: This is not like the others! It works through WiFi...
The RedEye Universal Remote System is just that... its a system. You don't get an adapter like the others. How it works is you get "WiFi infrared pods" that you place strategically in the rooms you want to have control of.What happens is your iPhone sends the command through WiFi to one of these "pods", then the "pod" sends a command through its infrared port to whatever device is in the room. This means you can be in your kitchen and turn on or off a TV / DVD player / stereo, etc... in any other room in your house!
Also the RedEye can receive commands from your iPhones internal accelerometer, so you can change TV channels, CD tracks and more just by flicking your iPhone to one side or the other!
Of course this system comes at a premium price. On sale at Amazon.com you are going to spend about $180.
