A strange word - like all the time with SEO Contests
You might wonder about the strange word iPhone4Spiel. Well, first i have to say that this is German SEO Contest and the word "Spiel" is german and means "game". However, doesn't make much sense anyway, right? No worries, I'm going to explain.
The iPhone4Spiel is a German SEO Contest. What's that supposed to mean? It means that zero results showed up on June 16, when the contest started. This is mandatory for an SEO Contest. The purpose of such a contest is the optimization of a specific term - iPhone4Spiel in this case. Optimization in regards to Search Engines (Google, to be more accurat). So the winner of this Contest is the person that shows up #1 in Google for the keyword iPhone4Spiel on July 31 2010.

Just a few days after the iPhone4Spiel content has started, the famous tagSeoBlog has made a very clear statement about the quality of the contest. Several critisism items were mentioned like "The Keywords 'iPhone4Spiel' is a joke", "terrible Linkbait fail", "2 dofollow links - are you crazy".. Bottom line was, the the tagSeoBlog post rose up to Google #1 within 1 day because a lot of Bloggers shared this opinion.
Several german press releases came out subsequently, most of them distributed by MyWebsolution.de (the current number 1 in the iPhone4Spiel Contest). The Webmaster of this homepage gave a little statement:
"Yeah I know it's kinda bad publicity for Interaktiv Net since they are a SEO agency and it's not really good if people start to blog about your misleading SEO campaign. However, I took the chance and pushed the news out to all the other people - of course linking back to my iPhone4Spiel article with the note of getting more information over there"
