iPod Classic Features

At the "Let's Rock Apple Event" during September 2008, the 80 GB and the thicker 160 GB models were discontinued in favor of a thin 120GB version. The discontinued versions are still available for purchase through the Amazon iPod Store.

  • The Genius Feature

So you're listening to a track you really love and would like to hear other songs that really complement it. With a few clicks, the new Genius feature hunts down the songs in your library that go well together and then makes a Genius playlist for you. You can listen to that playlist right away, save it for later, or even refresh it and try it again.

  • Everything At Your Fingertips

Finding what you want to watch or to listen to is as easy as A,B,C. Cover Flow allows you to use the Click Wheel to browse by album art, or you can navigate your songs and videos by playlist, artist, album, genre, and much more. The iPod Classic also searches for specific titles and artists. Then click Shuffle Songs for a new track order every time.

  • Enjoy Movies and Television Shows

You can watch movies, television shows and podcasts anywhere, anytime on the sharp 2.5-inch display. Purchase or rent movies, buy TV shows, and download video podcasts from the iTunes Store, then sync them to your iPod Classic.

  • iPod Games

iPod Classic comes with three games: Vortex, iQuiz, and Klondike. You can purchase other iPod Games from the iTunes Store. All iPod games are designed specifically for the iPod interface.

  • Photo Sharing

iPod classic uses iTunes to synchronize the photos you have in iPhoto on a Mac or Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Photoshop Album on a PC. Watch slideshows complete with music on the iPod Classic, or play them on a TV using an optional Apple component or AV cable.
