Using an iPod Touch in Education
Ranked #6,847 in Computers & Electronics, #132,474 overall
iPod Touch Use in the Classroom or for Mobile Learning.
The iPod Touch is a fantastic educational tool that lets a child take their learning with them. It is suited for children and students both young and old. Younger children will find the touchscreen to be easier to manipulate than a traditional keyboard and mouse - especially if they have not yet begun to read. Older students will first be excited about the entertainment features of the iPod Touch, but it will not be hard to convince them to utilize them as a learning tool. Their small size and large app library allows them to be a versatile addition to your classroom or home.

Educational Advantages to the iPod Touch
Great tool to aid learning.
The multi-touch graphical user interface allows for even pre-readers or English language learners to benefit from it's use. By linking pictures to words and an intuitive menu system, young children can navigate through the iPod Touch's software making it far more dynamic than a book.
Older students will benefit from the portability of the device. Teachers can create educational PowerPoint presentations to be loaded into the iPod Touch to reinforce their lessons at home. Word processing programs allow for easy note taking in the classroom.
With a $200 price point, it is more affordable than a typical laptop. Having capability beyond educational activities, most notably music and games, makes it something a child will run towards instead of away from.
