Why only music for your Ipod? Doesn;t it deserve more?

Surely if you love your Ipod you'd feed it everything it wants?

Ipods and games are a match made in heaven

So why are you putting it off?

If, like millions of Ipod owners you are slowly waking up to the fact that Apple's little wunderkind is good for a whole lot more than listening to music, you've come to the right place. There are growing legions of people using their Ipods to play games with, and if you'd like to join them, read on to find out exactly what you need to be aware of when you download free ipod game.

First up, your biggest issue will probably be security. It seems that as internet speeds get faster and computer technology advances, the ever present scam artists and "phishers" or whatever they are called these days, are always finding new ways to invade our lives and generally cause trouble. Unfortunately, the downloading arena is one of the simplest places for them to get at us, as to download anything at all, we have to give external forces access to our computer. Before you download anything at all, especially from some kind of peer to peer download site, you'll want to update the security on your computer and make sure it's as tight as possible. Downloading a free Ipod game only to be left with a dead computer is a little bit of a false economy, no?

Along a similar line, be careful who you give your details to. There are some terribly unscrupulous websites out there that will actually charge you to download free stuff that's in the public domain. It's totally legal for them to do this, but you obviously don't want to get caught. Imagine having to pay for something that's free elsewhere. Not pleasant, so make sure you know exactly what you get for your money if you sign up for anything. It's not like these guys are going to rip off your card details or anything, but it seems completely unethical to be making money from free stuff other people created. Maybe that's just me?

Do you want to go to jail for the sake of a couple of Ipod downloads? If you don't you may want to make sure you know the rules for downloading in your territory. You see, many, many Ipod games are created by small independent programmers, and as such are known as home brew or freeware games. This means they are free to download and share around or whatever you like really - BUT - there are plenty of games out there that are copyrighted too. And if you download those ones, it's against the law. Basically you need to be super careful when you download anything, as it's very easy for the authorities to track you from your IP address etc these days.

Be careful when you are downloading your free Ipod games...
