Photography by Stephanie Irigoyen

I'm an amateur photographer, and I love to travel, so it makes for some great photos. Ever since I was young, I've loved capturing moments: I still feel that photographers must have special superpowers! I've been around the world to places like France, England, Italy, Switzerland, Peru, and a few other places, where I take my photographs. Someday, I hope to become a professional photographer taking pictures for magazines or having an art gallery. In the meanwhile, I'm sticking to this awesome lens to show off my photography. Be sure to check out my Flickr account below, and check out some of my photography, as well as some tips and more!

My Equipment

The amazing Canon EOS Rebel XSi

I use the Canon EOS Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR, that comes equipped with a 18-55mm lens. I got it about 3 months ago, and have loved using it! I can't wait to try it out when I go traveling in September! If you want to learn more about my travels, check out this page.

Before, I used a Nikon point and shoot camera. It was nice, of course, but only a mere 5.5 mega pixels with a 3x optical zoom, nothing near what I wanted.

Future plans for my equipment? I really want a fisheye lens and a telephoto lens, so I'm saving up for those!

Signs: My Latest Previous Project

I got a little bored with my photography project, taking pictures of signs, but I still do like some of the pictures that came out of it. Check them out!

"St. Mark's Square"

I really love this photograph. I'm not usually good with photographing crowds, but I think this picture came out well. I love that it captures the happy feeling that people get when they feed the pidgeons in the square.

"Breathless"

It was a long and hot hike up the mountain, but the view was amazing! I was debating on whether to name this picture "Breathtaking" or "Breathless". I went with the latter because I definitely felt breathless after the hike up, haha. This photograph was taken in Peru, and it was just a beautiful place!

"Colors"

I really love this picture because I feel it captures Venice, Italy the best. This is an island off of Venice (but still a part of it) named Burano, where I saw some amazing glass-blowing done. Venice was I think one of my favorite places in Europe (well, the little I saw of it). This photograph is just so amazingly colored and it even has some of the people sitting in a little restaurant outside!

"Feeding Time"

The birds in Rome will just go up to you to ask for food. I didn't even have to use the zoom to get this picture! All I did was drop some crumbs next to me and they flocked right there. These two were left after the food was gone.

"Yoshi"

Yes, Yoshi is the actual name of my dog. He's an adorable little pup, isn't he? I love to take pictures of my animals, even though they're camera shy. The zoom helps immensely, though.

Photographing Pets?

If you're photographing pets up close and personal, it might take some time and getting used to for some animals to be around the camera. Try giving them treats when they approach the camera, or when you snap a close up of them!

"Christmas Homes"

I took this picture back in December, when it was still Christmas time! This was one of the first pics I took with my new Canon Xsi! I thought it was really beautiful and colorful, but I can't think of a better name. If you've got suggestions, leave a comment in the guestbook! :)

"The Leaves"

I was walking around outside one day and I remember looking through some trees and seeing this beautiful angle. I was a bit far from my house, but nonetheless, I ran home to grab my camera and come back. The sun had set a bit more in the time it took me, but I still loved the light and the angle of the picture. It makes me feel peaceful and happy just looking at it. :)

Photos from the Carnival

I went to the carnival recently, so I thought I'd share some of my favorite photos I took there! Taking pictures at the carnival is really fun. I like to set my shutter speed low so that I can really capture the feel of the action. Check it out.

My dear!!! This is a fabulous page. I love the photography that you have presented -- Venice looks wonderful in black and white ... as does Paris! Good luck with your photography. You have a great eye for composition.
