Irish Ballads: Love Songs from the Emerald Isle

Love songs are popular in all cultures - and the Irish culture is no exception. Some of the most beautiful Irish songs are the love ballads, which are especially popular for Saint Patrick's Day gatherings. They are also a great choice for any other events with an Irish theme, such as Irish weddings and they are enjoyed internationally.

Although I'm not Irish, I attended an Irish elementary school and was exposed to a lot of Irish music at school, church and home when I was growing up. I will be featuring seven of the most popular Irish love songs - many more could have been selected. I've included videos of two versions of each song.

Happy listening - enjoy!

Before we were married we would spend practly ever Sunday night at the local Brew Pub to listen to the live music. One of our favorites was TBD. This was a fun sort of pot luck approach.
