- Patience cures many an old complaint.
- What whiskey will not cure, there is no cure for.
- A silent mouth is sweet to hear.
- A windy day is the wrong one for thatching. (I'll say - I added that)
- Better is the trouble that follow death than the trouble that follows shame.
- It is no secret that is known to three.
- Long loneliness is better than bad company.
- Marriages are all happy, it's having breakfast together that causes all the trouble.
- If the knitter is weary, the baby will have no new bonet.
- It's often a man's mouth broke his nose.
- If you put a silk dress on a goat he is still a goat.
- It you don't know the way, walk slowly.
