What I Enjoy

Hi!  I am Irma White from New Orleans, Louisiana. I never thought I'd live anywhere but NOLA but along came a hurricane. Thus, I now live in Texas after living 2 years in Georgia.

I am a fun loving 'blue' person and a sports fanatic.  My favorite team in the whole world is the New Orleans Saints.  I have been with them from their inception so you know the heartache I have suffered over the last three decades.   We are 12-0 for the first time ever. Could this be year for that Superbowl win?  I love the New Orleans Hornets too but don't get to see them much since I am not in NOLA.

I  enjoy reading, sewing and painting.  My favorite book to read is, of course, my Bible where I get my daily inspiration and encouragement although I read other empowering books on a daily basis as well.  My favorite things to sew are quilts.  The whole quilting process is so enjoyable, from selecting the fabric, to piecing the strips together, to the actual quilting and finally to adding the border.  Then, VOILA, a masterpiece is created! See my Mardi Gras Mambo Quilt, which was in a national quilting magazine irmahere.

Another thing I enjoy doing is traveling.  I especially like traveling anywhere there are blue skys, blue water and white sand.  It makes me feel like I am in heaven!

I also love flowers although I don't have a favorite. I prefer floral bouquets with various flowers and colors. I am also a scented candle lover. I burn them almost daily.

My favorite food is seafood. I especially like crawfish bisque, shrimp or crawfish etoufee' and everybody's favorite -- GUMBO. If you ever go to New Orleans, be sure you get some gumbo. And be sure to go to Cafe Du Monde for some beignets and the best coffee in the world. (They will owe me for this plug).

And, of course, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I think I used to take that for granted when we all lived in New Orleans together. We are scattered about now since Hurricane Katrina. So, now, not only do I enjoy it, I treasure it! I am blessed to still have my mom and her dad, my grandfather, who is 104 years old.

What I Enjoy Watching

A little more about me.

I average going to the movies about once a year. The last movie I went to see was the Blindside (yea, I know, another sports related movie.) Prior to that the last movie I saw was in June 2008 when I took my grandson to see Kung Fu Panda. I have to admit - I enjoyed the movie. Instead of going to the movies I prefer watching a live sporting event such as football, basketball, etc. Of course my two favorite teams are the New Orleans Saints & Hornets. I love to see the "Tiger" play golf. He is so intense. Well, I guess with all the drama going on with him I won't be seeing that for a while. If I do watch a movie it usually involves sports because I find sports movies are usually exciting and inspirational.

One exception to that is, I really enjoyed watching my favorite movie "Men of Honor" starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. That movie really shows what can happen when the twins - desire and persistence - are in full operation in your life. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE to them that believe!!
Oh, of course, Denzel is the man so I like watching most of his movies. By the way, I just realized he is a 'hammered green.'

I also love watching home decorating shows. I get lots of good ideas from them.

What I Enjoy Most

What I enjoy most is HELPING PEOPLE fulfill their God gven destiny. My passion and mission comes from 1 Corinthians 10:24 which says "We want to live well, but our foremost efforts should be to help others live well." (The Message Bible)

I love encouraging people to be the best they can be. God has a plan for each of us so I love helping people get on their path to greatness. Just as Henry Ford's most rapid strides became noticeable after connecting with Thomas Edison, so can anyone else who connects with someone in a spirit of harmony. As the scripture says "Two are better than one....." Or, "as iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." Or, it's like a group of batteries having more power than a single battery. So, feel free to contact me. We can sharpen each other if we are in harmony.

I Believe in You

Success is in Your Hands!

I hope you really listened to that song and were inspired by it. I hope that you hold on to your vision and believe in your greatness because I BELIEVE IN YOU!

Let me inspire you with words to another song. It's by Fred Hammond
"Success is in your hands."

Success is in ur hands
follow my plans
I've called you for this hour
and placed in you my power

its in ur hands

follow my plan
I will do exceedingly above all u ask of me
its in ur hands
follow my plans

dont waiver to the left
dont waiver to the right

its in ur hands
follow my plan
I've called you by my name
and you will never be the same

its in ur hands follow my plans

You have the power to do anything you desire. Whatever your vision is, everything you need is already inside of you. YOU CAN DO IT! I am for you. And, more importantly, God is for you. And if God be for you, no one can be against you. He knows the plans that He has for you. You are a "Special Creation" so, step into your greatness!

Be empowered to prosper!

Irma
