IS ANYTHING REALLY FREE?

This article takes a look at the cost of free products and programs (such as affiliate programs, software programs such as shareware and freeware, Keyword Tools, AdSense campaigns) and others

First let's define some terms and terminology. When you say the word free, it sparks as many different definitions as there are people in the world. Everybody looks at it differently. To me free means free, as in it cost me nothing. However, after giving this subject more consideration, I can't think of anything that is free. As far as I can tell everything cost something, whether in the form of money, or time, or effort or some other area.

Reminds me of the saying there is no such thing as a free puppy. You have to buy feed and other amenities like a flea collar, lease, take to vet and get shots and anything else that comes up.

THE COST OF FREE PRODUCTS

LET'S DEAL WITH THE AREA OF MONEY FIRST

There are some things that are free to a degree. Let's take the following example. If you own a computer with a windows base OS it most likely has programs that came with the computer. Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, some type of photo editing software, solitaire and a few other games.

But were they really free? I mean after all you did pay for the computer. Nevertheless, you can use these "FREE" programs to create spreadsheets, documents, articles and just about anything you are creative enough to come up with, but then you are investing the time it takes to make whatever it is you're making. And as they say, "Time is money"

On the other hand you can pay to outsource a lot of the work of operating an online business such as having a website built, SEO, article marketing, and many other tasks.

HOW TO DECIDE IF FREE PROGRAMS ARE FOR YOU

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF FREE?

The advantage of free are pretty obvious. You don't have to shell out the money to get an online business up and running. There are plenty of resources available that do not cost any money and we at The Online Infopreneur can help you find them.

The disadvantages of building an online business from all "FREE" resources is that it usually takes time. At first glance, this sounds like an argument in favor of paying for the extra support, but there are no shortcuts. What you gain in time, you loose out in knowledge. If you elect to learn the ins and outs first, then you will be a much more powerful marketer in the long run.

MY DECISION ON FREE PRODUCTS

I DECIDED TO GO WITH FREE

So, this is the conclusion I came to for my own self. It boils down to this, do I want to take money from my bank account to invest in some tools that will help me speed up actions for my business and or do I want to save the money and invest the time to learn and then put that knowledge that I gain into practice

I decided to hang onto my hard earned dollars in the beginning stages and spend the countless hours of searching the web & weeding through all the hype and scams, and learn the ropes. And I'm glad I did, the knowledge gain is worth it's weight in gold.

And then start putting that knowledge into practice until I actually started making some money (not a lot at first, but nonetheless I had broken through that barrier) and then start reinvesting some of those profits back into the business. Mainly the purchase of article rewriting software, and other tools that automate a good portion of the work load.

This way, the money I do decide to spend on my business is much more productive because of what I learned. I know and better understand how to apply the tips and tricks that I picked up along the way for maximizing and optimizing my results.

OTHER FACTORS INVOLVED IN CHOOSING FREE PRODUCTS VS PAID

WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Other factors involved in how to decide what is the best way for you could be:
Your likes and dislikes.

Do you really enjoy computers or do you just tolerate them?
Do you have more time available and little money or vice versa?
Are you patient and willing to stick with it while you grow your business?
Would you rather pay to outsource tasks if it would speed things up?

What ever type person you are, if you have a desire to own an online business and are willing to pay the price, then you can operate a successful and profitable online business.

THE MAIN FACTOR

HERE IS THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER

The bottom line. The most important factor in being successful is determination. No one can take that from you if you have it, and if you don't have it yet, you can acquire it. The first step is to make up your mind that you are going to be the owner of a successful business. Once you have done that, then you will begin to find ways to make it happen. Just like you reading this is more than likely a result of diligent searching on your part.

If you make the commitment to stick with it, do your due diligence, and work hard, then you too can be one of them that can say I am able to stay home with my family now, I have more freedom, and all while earning a substantial income from home.

WHAT NOW?

If You Haven't Already, Determine That You Are Going To Be Successful

Being determined is the most important factor in whether you are successful or not when trying to make money online, or any other endeavor, whether business or some other passion of yours.

Keeping in mind that the definition for insanity is to keep doing things the same way and expecting different results has been one of the single most motivating factors for this author to not quit over the years when the going got tough. The difference between those who are successful and those who are not, are that the ones who are successful, didn't quit.

Don't skim over this section lightly and dismiss it, if you are new to working from home and trying to learn to make money online, then take heed to this advice. You will have your share of challenges to overcome. You will be tempted to doubt at times, is this for me? Can I really make money from my computer, and not only that, but make a substantial income?

The answer is yes, you can, if you are committed and determined to see it through to the end.

Think long term, where will you be in twenty years if you don't do something different?
