The health benefit attributed to green tea are primarily the result of something called polyphenols. These chemicals have potent antioxidant characteristics. As studies have shown as our bodies use oxygen we naturally produce by products calle (free-radicals) which can cause damage. Drinking green tea with it's powerful antioxidant properties acts to prevent and repair damage done by these free radicals.

Further proof on whether green tea is good for you is it's been successful in preventing memory loss. Green Tea has been know to fight the free radical damage to brain cell seen in Alzhimer's and Parkinson disease.
