Product Description
''Losing weight quickly is unwise.''

''If you lose weight quickly, you're more likely to gain it back.''

'''Eating near bedtime creates more fat.''

''Diets of 1,000 calories or less are unsafe.''

''Nutritional nonsense!'' declares Dr. Sanford Siegal in Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet Book. He debunks these and other myths that he says are propagated by ivory tower researchers, nutritionists, and even some of his fellow physicians who have never helped an actual overweight person lose weight. Drawing on fifty years of experience exclusively treating overweight patients, Dr. Siegal presents anecdotal evidence gathered from more than 500,000 patients to support the concepts underlying his venerable Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet weight-loss approach and hunger-controlling cookie.

This book is must reading for anyone who follows the Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet weight-loss program or is considering doing so. Dr. Siegal, known to generations as the ''Cookie Doctor,'' provides real-world advice and practical tools that will help you set and reach your goal weight and, for the first time in the history of dieting, customize your diet in order to reach your goal weight by a specific date such as a reunion, vacation, or wedding.

I've never tried the cookie diet and know that I can't resist a good cookie ... just to be able to stop eating all the cookies! ;)
  • sukkran Apr 28, 2012 @ 9:54 am | delete

I think a cookie diet could work in the short term. Kitchen cleanup is a breeze, for sure. I'm not a fan of calorie counting and only weigh myself once or twice a year.

My sister once did fudgesickle, she figured she could have 10 a day for only 1000 calories....you can't live on fudgesickles alone....but, now cookies....

you'll definitely lose weight by eating cookies alone...but only try it after talking to your doctor =)
  • resabi Jan 17, 2011 @ 12:14 am | delete
Seems like a silly diet to me. I understand the psychology of allowing sweets, but for the same number of calories you could have a lot of healthier and more filling foods. But I'm glad to know about it and how it's supposed to work. Nice job of informing.
  • darciefrench Jan 13, 2011 @ 9:38 pm | delete
I'll do the Cookie diet anytime.

If a person likes cookies, this might work. My mom lost a lot of weight on the ayds plan, back in the late 60's - she basically had 2 vitamin enriched caramel candies with a cup of hot black coffee about 30 minutes before each meal - so by mealtime she wasn't hungry. That was the good part. The bad part was that over time her potassium levels got so low from her lopsided diet that she ended up with a heart attack followed by a stroke. So ever since then (I was 12 when it happened) I've been really leery of skewed diets. However, in principle, increasing one's fiber, lowering one's intake of fat, salt, and simple carbs, and increasing exercise is supposed to work. Unless, like me, you have the metabolism of a snail on prozac, in which case you're in deep ... manure.
  • Margo_Arrowsmith Nov 26, 2010 @ 4:35 pm | delete
Eating too few calories can and usually does slow down the metabolism. Not good for the long run
  • Rhonda10 Jul 22, 2010 @ 11:13 pm | delete
Anybody know if this actually works? Sounds too good to be true, cuz I love cookies!!!
  • brunidl Jul 21, 2010 @ 11:34 pm | delete
I thought this was a joke too, but this guy has millions of supporters who use his cookies and are losing weight!!!
