Arguments For And Against Goid
Just a Few Common Arguments
If there is no God, how do you explain the world around you? How could the complex and diverse life we see spring up by accident, and how could the universe have even come into existence? It doesn't make sense not to believe in God!
The Case Against God
A belief in God is irrational. The fact that we cannot fully explain everything in no way suggests that there is a God. In fact, people use the same "evidence" to come to wildly contradicting conclusions about a supreme being. There is no evidence to show that god exists, and we shouldn't believe in things where we lack evidence completely.

Why do you think God does or does not exist?
Is There a God?

Yes
DelightfulDanielle says:
If there was no God, how in the world would there be the complex life around us? And what about the Bible? That is proof. And there are so many miracles he has performed. So are you just going to overlook those?
Gerson Lovera says:
The steam proves the heat, the echo proves the sound, the shadow proves the sunshine, the creation proves the Creator. Now that's my belief, I can't say that I'm wrong because I believed Him, the same way a woman believes her fiancee he will stay with her forever. One might as well say that nature doesn't prove God, we can argue with thesis, basis and proofs, but the fact that he believes or she doesn't believe, doesn't change the fact that God was, is and yet to come. The one who has eyes to see, then let him see! And those who have ears to hear then hear! The Truth is a matter of the heart and mind.

Yes!
erenmckay says:
Oh yes . I definitely believe that God exists. Just looking at the perfection of Creation I can see that there is a Creator. Not only do I believe He exists but I also want Him to be number one in my heart each and every day of my life. I am very grateful for all that He has done for me and in my heart. He is wonderful.
Geekgurl says:
Yes - Call it/him/her what you will, I believe there is something bigger than us. Human knowledge/science is limited, so questioning will always occur throughout the world. Everyone has to find their own path themselves, and the current religion is not the way to find it.
No
shaunkowalewski says:
No, I think that all humans and beings and plants ect come and go. We come to live and then die. Our conscienceness ends once we are dead so if we are in fear 2 seconds before we die we will no longer have any feeling once we die. I would prefer to die in my sleep, either way once your dead you won't remember so it doesn't make a difference. It seems weird. Religion (IN MY OPINION) Is just a means of controlling people or they will go to a pit of fire. Also churches generate billions of dollars every year throughout the world with donations and charities for support of the church. I think religion is just one huge scam made and creaed by humans. If I offended anyone I am sorry, but this is my opinion.
MobyD says:
If God did not exist, man would have to invent him. That's just what happened, and it started the oldest con game in the world. Millions have died because they didn't believe the way other more powerful people wanted them to believe.
LevinRandolph says:
I have a question for Geekgurl. Why do you believe there is something (a grand consciousness) bigger than us? I agree that we can't know everything, but why should we believe in something we don't know?
Chadrew says:
There's no evidence to suggest otherwise. Besides, religions are messy and contradict themselves (and each other) all the time. As Stephen Roberts said:
“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one less god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
DinosaurEgg says:
There's no evidence. Whereas humans inventing god seems entirely plausible.
Levin says:
Watching the horrifying aftermath of natural disasters on the news made believing in a god very hard for me to sustain. I was taught that god is supposed to be all-good, all-loving, all-powerful, and all-knowing. In a universe with that kind of god, how could there be any injustice at all?
There can't be that many possibilities: I'm mistaken about god's nature; I'm mistaken about what such a god should do; or there is no such being.
Only one of these alternatives could most satisfy my unease. If god isn't all he's cracked up to be, why worship him? What a horrifying thought that there could be an all-powerful being who isn't also all-good! If what's good and just according to god seems not right at all to me, I have to give up my moral sense to be ok with his actions. That's like asking me to believe Hitler was an ok guy! So I had to start wrestling with the idea that no such thing exists.
So now I look to science to wrestle with some of the difficult questions. We don't know everything, and never will. But it seems dishonest to exploit this ignorance to suggest a god worth worshiping exists.
