I would like to expand on one of my previous articles,

simply because I believe there was so much to be added.

 

For those who may not have read it, I was writing about the

difference between how my whole life was being compared with

what it was 2 ½ years ago.

 

That short while ago I was settling in a routine which I

honestly believed a 76 year old man and his wife were

supposed to do when they are growing old. However I have

since learned, you are old only when you accept it.

 

This routine happens over time, one thing or another leads

you to resigning yourself that the time has come for you to

slowly cut back in your activities, and fall back, Sit down

and watch television, play bingo or something, or such other

exciting pastime.

 

Anyway, this is what happened to my wife and me.

 

However, knowing what I know now, the reason I was growing

old was not because I was 76 bat the time, the real reason was

I was unhealthy, I was overweight and listless.

 

Think about it, of course I don't know if you are overweight

listless and unhealthy, however, I do know now, if you are

these things, even if you are only 25 you will never grow out

of it. You will never grow out of it if you do nothing to help.

 

Remember you have only one body, just one. How will you treat

it from here-on-in. I read somewhere, in order to get the best

out of your equipment you have to treat yourself as you would

if you were an athlete. You know what they do, they treat

their bodies as if it was a temple, and this is what you

should do.

 

The incentative to do this is in your mind. Just think how you

are today, pulling all that weight around, feeling down in the

dumps all of the time, think of the alternative.

 

Here's what I did, and this is what you should do. Before I

tell you, recall the situation my wife and I were in 2 ½ years

ago. Well let me tell you a little of what is happening in our

One of our passions before we decided we were getting old, was

playing golf, we loved the game. Like many other people who are

retired we had lots of time to feed our passion. We played on

programmed by being overweight and listless, our mental attitude

had altered because of this.

 

The first thing we had to do was to get rid of the fat, so like

everyone else who has this problem we both went on a diet. Like

many other people we found it so difficult as we put our heart

and soul into it. We persisted, but as quick as we were taking

it off, it came back as soon as we relaxed our diets. We were

not very happy with the situation.

 

I then had a break, as you well understand everyone we met heard

about our problem, I am a bit of a moaner, if I have a problem

people hear about it.

 

Well, a close relation that I was trying to starve myself and

that there was no reason to do that. He told me the way I was

trying to rid myself of the weight was not the correct way.

carefully, saying we would meet later to discuss it. He asked me

if I thought there were more people around today who were

overweight than there was 10 years ago. Well, I didn't even

have to think about it, of course there is.

 

What I read in that article has completely changed my life.

in the water we drink, I however did not realize it was so 

much of an epidemic.

 

Since reading that first article, I have read many others,

I have therefore decided to do my best to help people fully

understand, that because they are overweight is not a reason
