Similarities between Islam, Judaism and Christianity

The Relationship between the Religions

The origins of Islam, Judaism and Christianity are documented to have been at circa 3800 BCE. Adam is believed to be the common progenitor along with his partner Eve; who was appointed to be the keeper of the garden in Paradise.

*And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."*
Surat Al-Baqarah - 2:35

As we scroll along, please feel free to explore the roots with an open mind; keeping track of the similarities and the differences among these great religions. It is truly amazing that with so many commonalities between various great religions, finding a truly unifying factor seems to be elusive. My intention is not to court any controversies; however, you may feel free to voice your opinions / feedback in the guestbook below.

Surat Ali 'Imran 3:45

The Common Origins and the Separation

Commonly known as the Abrahamic Religions; Islam, Judaism and Christianity share common roots with their founding father - Abraham or Ibrahim. His two sons; born out of two different mothers (Sarah & Hagar) namely Isaac and Ishmael form the two different pillars to both these religions. The marriage of Isaac's son Esau (Edom) to Ishmael's daughter, Bashemath (Mahalath) gave rise to the formation of the tribes of Edomites.

It was during the times of Prophet Muhammad, who received the 'Word of God' as verses and written down as the 'Quran', that Islam became organized as a religion during circa 600 AD. The Quran is said to be universal in its message according to the Muslim faith, as much as the Torah given to Moses and the gospels according to Jesus.

Something to think about:

*And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.*
Surat Al-Ma'idah 5:46

*They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allah at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.*

Surat Al- Ma'idah 5:17

Every human on earth is affected by religion in some way shape or form. This book lays down the foundation and dismantles another part of the Arab-Europeans institution. I recommend this piece of profound scholarship to anyone living in the Afrikan community in America and the world. Read this along with "The Historical Origins of Christianity". Also read the appendix and the bibliography to any piece of literature that you read instead of simply believing. Use your logical and analytical ability. Read study and learn something that will liberate and free your mind. That is the message contained in this book.

A must read for believers and non-believers of "Jesus". I was extremely impressed with the depth of research and knowledge that went into the writing of this book. From a small child I was never, ever able to believe what I was taught about anything written in the bible. It always sounded too far fetched. For me, this author spells out the simple TRUTH. Thank you Brother Walter Williams.

If more people would recognize the similarities then religion might bring people together rather than separating them.

Interesting similarities...however, the only real God is the God who gave up his son. Even though some may say there are similarities, there is only one God and one way.

I wish everyone had to study world religions before they could lay claim to a particular religion or faith. There is more in common in religions than not, and ignorance breeds hatred.
