With over a million Muslims in London, eminating from the four corners of the Globe, London has a vibrant islamic Community.
Islamic London is defined by the cultural communities that live in the city - Asian (Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian). But there are large Turkish, Somalian, Arab, Nigerian and South East Asian Communities, as well as many British Muslims

Between them they bring about a very diverse view of Islam to London. Defined by each different Culture.

Eid in London

Eid is due on the 16th November 2010 to coincide with the end of Hajj.
Millions of muslims throughout the world will be buying Qurbani , a lamb or sheep to sacrifice . The meat is given 1/3 to family, 1/3 to neighbours and friends and 1/3 to the poor.

The Bangladeshi community is thriving in the capital with third generation Bangladeshis on their way to establishing themselves in the mainstream of London commerce and politics. There are well over 150,000 Bangladeshi people living in London and the south east of England, and most of them come from the Sylhet region - a place of emerald green rice fields and dense tea gardens on the country's eastern border.

It is estimated that more than half a million Arabs live in the UK, with London attracting the majority who have settled here largely from Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon, the Gulf States and Iraq. Britain and the Arab world have been conducting business since medieval times. From the mid-19th century, Yemeni sailors lived around the docks and Iraqis began settling in London in the 1930s London Arab community is centered around Edgware Road, Bayswater and Blackstock Road in Finsbury Park.
