Links to the most gifted British Muslim Artists
- Adam Williamson
- One of the most talented British Muslim sculptors and artists that I have seen. His works both gently inspire and evoke contemplation. Perhaps the reason why HRH the Prince of Wales commissioned him for a memorial plaque.
- Halima Cassell
- Produces some fascinating hand carved sculptural objects, in a range of mediums from ceramics to bronze. A wonderful fusion of Islamic art with Islamic architectural designs. I don't think you'll have seen anything like it.
- Jamil Ahmed (Jamilarts)
- Maybe not the most original calligraphy (most of it is re-used classical calligraphy), but there are flashes of artistic brilliance that are worth searching around for.
- Mazzy Malik
- An interesting combination of raw graffiti and Arabic calligraphy set this artist on a stage that resonates with the youth of today. If you like this then you may also like Mohammed Ali (Aerosol Arabic).
- Mohammed Ali (Aerosol Arabic)
- Like Mazzy Malik this artist uses influences from graffiti and Arabic calligraphy to create a new street style of art. Even more impressive when you realise it is all done without brushes, just using spray cans.
- Ruh al-Alam (Visual Dhikr)
- The first artist to use digital media to create works of Islamic art. A style which many others have tried to copy but few have succeeded.
He is now branching out into other media and he continues to carry across the same talent and promise that he initially showed. - Samir Malik (Fahdi)
- His calligraphy exhibits both simplicity and deftness and he is a remarkable talent. Possibly the most innovative and naturally aware calligraphers in the UK today. Truly remarkable.
- Hatiq Mohammed (Teakster)
- Uses digital media in a similar way to Ruh al-Alam, as well as using 'Adobe Photoshop' to create computer based art.
- Vaseem Mohammed
- I never thought that a piece of art could humble me until I saw his work. Some of his creations are truly haunting...
He has a completely unique style and, in my opinion, is the most original and innovative Muslim artist in the UK.
Well worth viewing.
