I like using a resistance band for isometric strength training. Holding it in various positions can work different muscle groups and because you can vary the intensity by how taught you keep the band, it is a great way to keep progressing. You can also buy various strengths of band so you will never grow out of them! Thanks for a great lens.

My favorite use for isometrics is to help get beyond a certain sticking point in lifts. You just focus your isometric exercises on the exact joint angle where you stick. Just make sure not to do it on or right after the days you perform the lift/exercise.

Between my bad knees and sore back these low impact exercise are just the ticket. I use a back pain inversion table to loosen up the muscles in my back before exercising, and wish I could do more strength lifting.

I did judo for about 6 years when I was a teenager and isometric exercises are very powerful. If your doing any type of martial arts then isometric exercises are a must!

    Great lens as well!

Isometric exercises are ideal for martial artists. But I'd use a combination of isometric exercises and dynamic tension to develop strength and power. I've been doing both of these for the past few weeks and can notice my muscles not only getting larger, but getting worked out pretty intensely.
