Israel's 2009 Eurovision Entry: Achinoam Nini and Mira Awad Will Perform "There Must be Another Way"

This is one of Israel's better songs to reach the Eurovision in the past ten years. I think the duo has a chance to win this year's contest or at least finish in the top 5.

Fun Facts about Israelis in the Eurovision

Shiri Maimon
Shiri Maimon, the Israeli singer from the 2005 competition, finished second in "A Star is Born" (i.e. the Israeli version of "American Idol"). Her song "The Silence Remains" came in third place in the Eurovision song contest.
Boaz Mauda
Boaz Mauda represented Israel in the 2008 Eurovision. He won first place in "A Star is Born".
Dana International
Dana International's albums sold many copies in Egypt and Jordan - countries not known for their love of Israeli musicians.
Teapacks Button Song
Teapacks (also known as Tipex) caused quite a storm with their "Push the Button" entry in 2007. The politically loaded song about dictators with nukes combined with an odd choice of melody made international headlines.
Israels Eurovision History
Israel won back-to-back titles in 1978 and 1979, but did not defend the championship in 1980.
