Itunes Error 4450

Ranked #6,388 in Computers & Electronics, #122,540 overall

Itunes: Anyone Doing It With Windows?

Well, then you've more than likely had your battles with the music maestro! We've had the upgrades. Do we need so many? We now have "Genius". Don't we know who are our favorite artists are? They are always redoing the mousetrap. But the fact is, with all these new bells and whistles, there are things on Itunes that still don't work!

We still haven't tried to buy a movie since our great debacle! Can you blame us? Have you purchased a movie on iTunes and it worked? Please let us know.

Itunes: Love The Music And The Jukebox, Hate The Problems!

For you out there, whom have had the displeasure of seeing Itunes "Error 4450", our hearts are out to you.

We've done this before, same Window's App, different problem! In trying to burn the latest from Sugarland, we find it is another Itunes' snafu!
After doing different searches on Google and other engines, we found that this problem seemed to have no answer. A while back we think we solved this with a driver update (not this time.)

This time we went a different direction. After messing around with the burning speed, setting it up or down, we finalized around 4x and divided the 17 tracks into three playlists. We burned three cd's. Sure it's a crock. But we do have the latest Sugarland on our CD Changer! My wife said screw 'em, but she will love it when it plays!

This raises a lot of questions. Like, why doesn't Apple have a list of ITUNE'S errors that one can go directly to? (If they do, would you please let us know?) Are they like Windows and just throw out a new product without thorough testing? Or, are they trying to drive us crazy?

There is one other thing. We ran out of cd's before we could burn the last five songs. So if you will give us a moment of silence! We will continue the burning when we purchase another set of blank cd's and burn the last songs! Perhaps Yoda will say a prayer for us!

HEY, HEY, HEY....WELL ALMOST, MAYBE? (AN UPDATE)

About three days ago we were able to burn Sugarland! We switched to Sony CD-R Audio. We were able to burn the entire disk! That's the good news.

The bad news is that when we tried to burn our next CD, Taylor Swift: Taylor Swift, it took two disks, one a throw away and the other was the finished disk! We downloaded the album and proceeded like there was no problem. WRONG! After a restart, and no other apps running, we burned the cd successfully! Do we have it figured it out? Maybe? Still, an Itunes error list would be very helpful.

And if you have ever done Itune's Support, especially Error 4450, you don't know whether to feel more sorry for yourself or those other people already on there. Support will tell you that they don't know what causes it. Is this some anomaly like 2001's Hal? If you know the error code number how can you not know what causes it?

The mystery and pain continue!

Update: Or should I say, non-update! Just checked Google. And unless you want to go through un-installing all Apple products on Windows and reinstalling everything back, we don't know of a solution. After you go through all the above steps there is no guarantee that you won't still be in the same dilemma!

Update, circa: January 15, 2011

It had been quite a while since we had burned anything. We had just bought some albums on Itunes. We went to burn them. The first one couldn't finish. So, we set the burning speed to the lowest possible speed. Yay! It worked. We went to burn the second cd. Rats! The burning could not be finished.

At first we figured it was Itunes, of course. We used the onboard diagnostics on Itunes. We checked our computers settings. We went online and searched for help. In all, no help. But darn all be dammed. It turned out that our DVD+/-RW had crapped out. After installing a new drive, we were one in hog heaven, again (at least, so far! Keep those little toes crossed!)

And as far as we know, there is still no Itunes error list! Would any of us be able to get away with this?

That's Enough Musical Einstein!

We're Giving Up The CD Ghost!

We are on the verge of deep sixing our Technics Compact Disc Changer SL-MC4.

We used to love it. It wasn't one of those disc changers that held a mere five discs. Also, it wasn't a three hundred disc monstrosity. It held up to sixty plus discs. It was really sweet for quite a while. But it has become a conundrum! At the beginning, a disc would hang up occasionally. But after a few years, it now hangs up after every disc has played. And taking the needle-nose pliers and yanking out a stuck disc gets really old after a while (and can't be good for the CD either!) We tried going online for answers, no help. We tried elevating the rear of the player. It seemed to work at first, but failed later on.

We have looked at the dinosaur changers that hold hundreds. But they seem to get low ratings (mainly because they tend to damage the discs played.) So what do we do?

Look out bulky CD changer , the tiny but mighty MP3 will save the day! We already have four Sansa Clips that we use for personal listening. Someday soon we are planning on purchasing an eight megabyte (sixteen mb would be better.) That would supply us with plenty of songs when the weather wouldn't be permitting for our iTunes via Dell computer.

This course seems to the sign of the times. At least for ten years until the next audio revolution takes over.

Damn!

Here We Go Again!

We've just bought a new work truck, a 1995 GMC Sierra K1500. It has this great sound system. It has CD PLAYER. The player is a fickle thing. I have to have almost new cds for it to play them. I have a dozen or so of Sony cd-r's. I made a playlist. THEY AREN'T BURNING!

Same old error. Or is it? Now it's saying "insert a blank disc"! The Sony disc was as blank as my head after six hours of weedeating.

The iPhone wiki has an error list. It has quite a list of errors. HOWEVER, 4450 is not on the list. RATS! The aggravation continues!

Just tried the "ErrorRepair_File" form wiki errors. Oh yeah! I wanna pay $30 to fix this crap!

About thirty minutes later....I've given up on any transfer from iTunes to anything else. I have found out that I can find iTunes on Roxio's Classic Creator and as soon as I get the Sony 80 minute CD-R full I'm going to try to burn it. Wish me luck!

It didn't work. At this point I'm not sure which end is up! And if I go to "My Computer" and click on the cd/dvd drive, it says the "empty" disk is full. At control panel, hardware, device drivers, dvd/cd-rom drives, it says it is working. Rats!

May 23, 2012: Slipped in a Sony cd-r and opened the premix from yesterday. And it actually burned! Yay! Wow, let's try another one. Dragged songs from iTunes, My Music, etc on Roxio Classic Creator. Put another Sony 80 minute cd-r into the drive and pushed it in. FRACK! It wouldn't record it! Shot down again!

The next day it was insult to injury. The one cd that I successfully burned wouldn't work in the GMC stereo! And neither would the "Kenny Chesney Greatest Hits" that worked a few days ago (it was a cd-r!)! And neither would the other cds that I thought would work because they had been hardly played! So just shoot me!

May 27, 2012: We purchased the "Clean Drx Laser Lens Cleaner" off of Amazon.com. We inserted it into the Delco Stereo, and like magic, the cd player would now play almost everything that it wouldn't a few days ago including the Kenny Chesney that was denied the other day (the Sony cd-r that we especially recorded for the GMC stereo was not one of them!)

As far as burning anything else, that is out for the time being.

iTunes Puts The Y In Youtube?

Not Really, But It Sounded Cool!

Youtube seems to be the cure for those old content blues! Let's take a trip to the big Y and see what kind of MP3ery they have!

Ever Had A Problem Renting With Itunes?

After getting little help from Customer Service.....

Let me ask another question: Has anyone else had problems attempting to rent movies on Itunes?

We have tried it once. We were going to rent the third "Pirates" movie. We payed for it, downloaded it, but when we went to watch it wouldn't play. We tried to find help on the Apple site, no good. We emailed Apple support, little help. The worst thing was that we couldn't get a refund for our failed purchase! Apple acted like it had never happened!

We no longer try to rent movies from Itunes. We have never had a problem with the TV Episodes or Music downloads. Guess two things that work well are better than nothing.

ITUNES ANYONE?

If you have Itunes w/ windows, then I bet that you are roaring to let out some steam!

We Really Love The iTunes Player As A Jukebox, But....!

And what's up with all those weird files?

Don't get me wrong. The iTunes player is a really good MP3 jukebox! You can find what you want on iTunes (to a large degree), download it, and wallah, you've got music for your MP3 player or jukebox! The more you buy the more variety you will have. If you want to buy MP3's from someone else, say Amazon.com, you can do that and add the songs to your iTunes player with the Amazon MP3 Downloader.

Some of the earlier versions of iTunes were nicer. Quite a while back they had a setting to adjust the jukebox to whether you wanted it to play more or less songs from the selected albums. (A question: is there a manufacturer that makes an MP3 player that plays songs spontaneously, not in a certain order all the time? ) We still haven't been able to buy, download, and watch a movie yet (oops....wrong module for that!)

What about the iTunes Genius? We haven't used it yet. We've tried something similar to that. We subscribed to Yahoo Music. With it you pick out a dozen or two artists and it tries to play similar artists. We didn't like it. We canceled it.

And what's up with all those files? You know. The M4P's, the M4A, and etc? I believe it is for the people that have iPods? I bet that they don't have to go through all the hoops that us non-iPod people do. Having to find conversion software, if there is any that is free or affordable (and with the M4P's we were never able to find software that they didn't want $40 to $100 for), converting the songs with Windows Media Player, and then burning the songs to the actual player! Do you think that Apple is trying to discourage us from buying Sansa, Sony, or any of the other players? (Who in this day and time can afford to spend $300 on an iPod, anyways?)

iTunes, iTunes, How Do I .....Love Thee?

Actually, Yes, With Some Exceptions!

We do love the Jukebox and the ease of the downloads (including Amazon.) I could go on forever! But overall, iTunes is a great radio without the ADS!
