Putting more ponies in people's hands.

Iwannapony International is a fake organization started in 2008 by Kimberly Dawn Wells of Squidoo.com fame. The inspiration for starting II came from Megan Casey, also of Squidoo.com fame, and her ability to generate enthusiasm by promising a pony to lensmasters that impress her.

Although the idea of getting a pony is great, the reality is that not every family can afford one. II's mission is to help pony-loving-lensmasters get that bridled prize they've been seeking.

Who are we?

These aren't real photos of our staff and volunteers - they're actually just random people in silly hats - but if II were a real organization, we'd add our best photos to our Flickr account and show them off on our lens.

What we do and how we do it

Once upon a time, Squidoo was new and small. And Megan Casey knew just how to get new users to get excited about making it bigger - she promised ponies. Ponies for everyone! While we all knew it was kind of an empty promise, it kept the dream alive. And the Iwannapony Foundation was founded.

By mixing just the right amount of hoof and hair, we create miniature ponies that fit perfectly in the palm of your hand and give you that sense of satisfaction you deserve. But hoof and hair doesn't come free - oh no. Unlike birds, who freely steal hoof and hair scraps for nest building, we buy ours from certified organic hoof and hair farmers in Arizona. So not only are we putting a pony in every lensmaster's hand, we're helping keep the earth green too!

How will your donation be used?

At Iwannapony International, we're committed to maximizing your donation and keeping our administrative costs low.
  1. Admin costs - 14%
    Includes costs of maintaining a legal non-profit, office space and supplies, pony posters for office walls, etc.
  2. Distribution - 18%
    Includes the cost of physically putting ponies in lensmasters' hands.
  3. Marketing and communications - 4%
    Squidoo saves us a ton of money on communications, because we're talking to people who want to hear from us.
  4. Kimberly's Coffee - 42%
    What can we say? She's a coffee cow.
  5. Hooves and hair - 27-62%
    Depending on Arizona's economy.

Do you live near us?

PS - you can help us keep our admin costs even lower! If you live in Anytown, USA, consider volunteering in our main office or making a donation of office supplies. We're especially in need of copier paper and horseshoes.
Who needs a reason to celebrate? We don't. So mark your calendars for our fake event, and be sure to tell us when it is, because we'll forget.
