John F Kennedy, The Target!

John Kennedy should have just stayed in bed that day in November 1963. I know that may sound as if I'm being glib, but nothing could be further than the truth. That would have been the only way for him to avoid the headsman's axe, if you'll please pardon my analogy.
For someone, anyone, to think this was the act of one angry, deranged, misguided, or self deluded (poor me, I'm disenfranchised) individual, that person would have to be either; A.) Stupid: Which I will not attribute to anyone I do not know (or at least haven't heard speak, or seen write).
B.) Naive: Someone who is able to swallow, still, after all these years, the Warren Commission Report. I mean, how many people have to come forward to debunk that thing? Well, it did get one thing right...Kennedy was killed that day at Dealey Plaza. By who, exactly, is something we will probably never know.

If anyone is crazy enough to want to kill a president of the United States, he can do it. All he must be prepared to do is give his life for the president's;

JFK

As far as I'm concerned, this piece of history is up there with all momentous world events. What ever your opinion as to who killed Kennedy, I think we can all agree, it was the beginning of the end of "so-called" innocence in America (I know that NO nation on earth, or group of people are really "innocent").

We were, however, still relatively naive as a nation in 1963; even after dropping the bomb on Japan in the second world war, and fighting in Korea...but after JFK, Martin Luther King, and Bobby Kennedy...all the Vietnam war shown on the nightly news, I guess cynicism was the way an entire nation collectively chose to protect itself from whatever came next.

I realize we've had it relatively easy here in America (9-11 not withstanding), compared to other nations, especially those in Africa and the Middle East, when it comes to national tragedy. Having an entire ocean as a buffer helped in the early years of our history. I've read much about Pearl Harbor, and I am certainly not trying to lessen the impact that event had on us as a nation.

But that event had the opposite effect than Kennedy's assassination (for obvious reasons). The Kennedy assassination took what ever wind we may have had out of our sails. Then you add to it the years of LBJ, Richard Nixon, and Watergate.

It was like someone throwing an ice-cold glass of water on you to wake you up. It will get the job done, but the consequences won't be pretty

    People "still" want to know!

History is the one thing that never gets old...! What?

Think about it...time doesn't matter; hundreds, or in some cases, thousands of years worth of time goes by, yet people still discuss certain events as though they happened yesterday.

You may be sitting there shaking your head saying..."Da! Of course time goes by."

But if you think about my opening sentence, about history never getting old, I think you may (if you haven't already) begin to grasp what I'm talking about. Sure events that took place in the past, whether it be the recent past, or hundreds, if not thousands of years ago could be construed as i> But to people who follow history, or particular events in history, it may just as well have happened this morning.

Yet, there are times when things happen, or certain notable people do something that is news worthy, that other people will talk about it, or at least notice it enough to write it down in the annuls. But, let a little time go by, like say, a week or so...and those same people that were talking, and/or writing about it just a short time ago will say this; "That is such old news" or, "That is ancient history."

Which brings me, at long last, to my point! The JFK assassination will not go away. Of course, because it happened to a sitting U.S. President, but also because of all the mystique, and cloak and dagger surrounding the case. And lets not forget the all important human element. JFK was a young president, the youngest, in fact. He was also a father of young children, his life was, well..."Camelot," and the American people felt a connection of sorts to that family, what with all the photo's of Jack and the kids, and Jack, Jackie, and the kids. Not to mention, JFK had just pulled the U.S. and the world's collective fat out of the fire during the "Cuban Missile Crisis."

Look, I'm not naive, I know what Kennedy was doing behind Jackie's back...in fact I'm quite sure Jackie knew precisely what he was up to also, and I am in no way excusing him from those inexcusable actions. But there is NO WAY any one can compare a JFK administration with one of say, um...Bill Clinton? JFK had greatness written all over him, from his war record to his presidency.

You know what Clinton had all over him? High taxes, the technology boom which resulted in an unbelievable economy, peace-time, and Monica Lewinski.

    JFK Quotes

Some Of The Best EVER Spoken

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

Khrushchev reminds me of the tiger hunter who has picked a place on the wall to hang the tiger's skin long before he has caught the tiger. This tiger has other ideas.

I'm always rather nervous about how you talk about women who are active in politics, whether they want to be talked about as women or as politicians.

I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone.

A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality.

A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.

I just received the following wire from my generous Daddy; Dear Jack, Don't buy a single vote more than is necessary. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for a landslide.

If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity.

It is an unfortunate fact that we can secure peace only by preparing for war.

Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans - born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace.

The JFK Assassination Debates Lone Gunman versus Conspiracy

    by Michael L. Kurtz

This book will appeal to any who have an interest in the Kennedy assassination. Even if you subscribe to the...ahem lone gunman theory you will appreciate Kurtz's honesty. He does come clean about his loyalties, but when he delves into arguments for the lone gunman, You would never know he believes there was a conspiracy behind the death of the 35th president. He presents both cases extraordinarily well and leaves no stone unturned.

Must Read Books On "The Asassination"

    Eye Opening Stuff

The first book I read on "The Assassination" was BEST EVIDENCE by David Levin which argued for conspiracy. My most recent read was, "The JFK Assassination Debates; Lone Gunman versus Conspiracy" by Michael L. Kurtz. Of course with many stops along the way in various magazine articles, and even one literal stop at "The Texas School Book Depository Museum"

    The Zapruder Film

    This Speaks For Itself!

The Lone Gunman theorists wish this film never existed. But after 44 years and still no conclusive "who did it" maybe this film isn't so damaging after all. You be the judge.

    About JoeTedesco

Affiliate Advertising is the reason why I began making lenses.

As far as interests go, mine are wide in range and you never know what you might see here in the form of a lens. I mean I have a lens on movies, and I have a lens on movie stars. You'll also see that I have a lens on the assassination of JFK, the sinking of the Titanic, my favorite video game, and Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis.

The only lenses I have that can be considered money making lenses would be this one and my Computer Security lens.

Though making money with my lenses would be great, I had to change focus in order to make quality lenses. There came a time when I felt so compelled to make a lens that would make money I was throwing almost anything together, sort of like chucking paint filled balloons at the wall and hoping for a Rembrandt. It never happened, and I had to take stock in what I was doing, and why. "Quality, before quantity."

So I hope I have at least begun to accomplish the quality part, and as time goes on, we'll see about the quantity.
