Thomas Jacob "Jack" Black (born August 28, 1969) is an American actor, comedian, and musician. He makes up one half of the comedy and heavy metal music duo Tenacious D. The group has two albums and a full-length film. His acting career is extensive, starring primarily as bumbling, cocky, but internally self-conscious outsiders in comedy films. He is a member of the Frat Pack, a group of comedians who have appeared together in several Hollywood films, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe award. He has also won an MTV Movie Award, and a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award.

Upcoming Films
The Year One
The film is about two men in a Biblical civilization and is currently in production. In a recent interview regarding Be Kind Rewind, Jack Black stated that Year One will be about two men running around in Moses' time. He said that the movie is similar to Monty Python's Life of Brian. Jack Black stated that it might be fun to see all the stories of the Bible in a modern movie.
In an interview with MTV, Michael Cera described it as a comedy set in Biblical times. Black plays the main character Zed, who is looking for some kind of meaning for his life, and Cera a character named O, Zed's friend. Black warned viewers expecting a comedy along the lines of "Ghostbusters" or "Knocked Up" that the style of the film is much more along the lines of the Monty Python movies.
