The One Page Audition
Jack Coleman earned the 'guest spot' and 3 seasons later (as of Fall 2008), the character(s) he plays on Heroes has become a pivotal persona!
In the beginning, Heroes writers and producers hadn't planned on making Mr. Bennet a very integral character on the series.
Perhaps Coleman's portrayal of the HRG character - instantly appreciated by viewers, providing the 'dark' to Mr. Bennet's 'responsible father figure' image - was what made the Heroes writing crew develop the roles more fully for Coleman.
Jack Coleman's contribution to the show is very significant - surprising, coming out of a small-spot audition that was about a character who was supposed to mainly disappear early in the first season with absolutely LIMITED recurring appearances!!
HRG/Mr. Bennet is no secondary, back in the pages character at all!
