The Mystery Behind the Man
Matthew Fox plays Jack Shephard, one of the male leads on the hit ABC television show LOST. His save-the-world complex and drive to control has put him in some interesting predicaments over the years. It is also no doubt one of the reasons he is counted as one of the Oceanic Six. During his time on the island, he seems to develop feelings both for Kate Austen, a fugitive wanted for murder with girl next door charm, and Juliet Burke, a fertility doctor who was brought to the island to work for The Others.
Jack Shephard at a Glance
Dr. Jack Shephard is a fictional character on the ABC television series Lost played by Matthew Fox. Jack is the leader of the crash survivors and the main character of the series. He is the antithesis of John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) and the love interest of both Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly) and Juliet Burke (Elizabeth Mitchell). He is also the half-brother of fellow crash survivor Claire Littleton (Emilie de Ravin). He is often the rival of Sawyer (Josh Holloway) for both leadership of the survivors and the affections of Kate.
Three reasons to love Jack Shephard
Despite what he tries to portray to the world, he is not perfect. He is flawed in many ways that are so genuinely human which contributes to making him a very believable character.
He is very sincere and honest. What you see is usually what you get with him. If you have a question, ask it because he will tell you exactly what he's thinking. This transparency is inspiring in a world full of ulterior motives and bold face lies.
He genuinely wants to help. Yes this is also a character flaw because at times his desire to help translates to control and a need to be "Mr. Fixit", but it's also endearing. He is a real friend who would do anything to keep his loved ones safe and happy.

- Desmond Hume: meets him while running the steps of a stadium, as Desmond leaves, he tells Jack "See you in another life, brutha"

- Shannon Rutherford: Jack passes Shannon in the hospital her father was taken to after he was involved in a car accident with Sarah, who became Jack's first wife

- Claire Littleton: her father is also Christian Shephard, making her Jack's half-sister (neither of them know this yet)
