In the late 1990's, a British gentleman by the name of Peter Williams, decided to create a clothing company aimed at university students. Peter named the company after his grandfather, Jack and ten years later "Jack Wills" has become one of the coolest clothing brands in the U.K. However, to say Jack Wills is THE most popular clothing brand for teens in the UK would not be true and in fact, if ever this clothing brand became so popular that you'd see it being worn by every Tom, Dick and Harriette then that would mark the death knell of this fashion brand.

Jack Wills is cool. It doesn't try to be, it doesn't want to be, it just is.

Self labelled as "University Outfitters", the company leans more towards the public school pupil and the style could best be described as preppy looking. Since opening their first store in Salcombe, Devon all those years ago, the company now has over 30 stores in the U.K and Ireland with plans to also break into the American market.

Jack Wills stores tend to be rather distinctive buildings such as listed period buildings and sometimes even old pubs ! You will not find them in shopping malls as this goes against the company's principle of keeping the brand exclusive.
