Antoine Lecoultre founded his workshops n 1833, by 1844 he created the millionometer the first instrument to measure the accuracy of timepieces. In 1925 Jaeger lecoultre invented the Duoplan watch, its parts are on differant levels allowing the watch to be smaller.
He encompassed the art deco era and in 1931 produced the Reverso watch, which had a swival face allowing it to be turned to protect it from hard knocks. After world war II Jaegar lecoultre focused its watches around men of action, so producing watches that were functional, sturdy, user friendly and percision instruments.
Their range of watches has included the Futurematic which had no winding crown, the Memovox and the famous divers model Polaris. They also produced the Geophysic and the Geomatic chronographs.
