Just My Opinion...

There is a saying: "If you give a man a fish, he can eat for a day. But, if you "teach a man to fish," he can eat for a lifetime"...

Now, what we here at Jagged Designs Marketing Alliance did was applied this same saying to our business plan and affiliate marketing approach, with a little twist.
"If you give man a one time affiliate sale, he can eat for a day. But if you "Teach a man to focus on Residual Income sales, he can eat for a lifetime"...

I remember this saying from when I was a small boy, not really thinking about it much , but it stuck with me. I finally saw the light when I read this same saying on a blog written by Willie Crawford. I was just starting out in Internet Marketing, looking for direction, then this saying crossed my path again.....BAM, instant direction!!

Look, I am in no way knocking "one time sales". I promote them all the time, but we do not use this approach as our main focus in our affiliate marketing programs. Instead we focus on affiliate programs or products that offer a "residual income".
Examples: Promote a product from Clickbank, making a $19.95 commission, make your best sales pitch, throw in a couple of "bonuses", then send it out to your list...make a stab at at a google adsense ad, and maybe, if your lucky...you make 20 sales (20 sales x $19.95 = $399.00). Not to bad to be honest. (But, what are you going to do next week / month if there isn't another decent promotion item?)

NOW....take the same time / effort and advertising methods it took to make that $399.00, and promote a product or program that offers you "residual income" from each sale (money that comes in each & every month that your referred signee remains a member).....Say, the product you chose to promote is for EasyPushButtonTraffic, an article submisson service (which every internet marketing, or anyone in any kind of business needs), which offers a commission of $48.50 per month.....and let's say you make only 10 sales. That 10 sales will bring you $48.50 a month from each sale (10 x $48.50 x 12 months = $5,820.00 for the year)

Now....take your one time promotions and repeat that every week (if your lucky enough too)....let's see...that's $399.00 x 52 weeks = $20,748.00 for the year.
Again.....take the same time / efforts and advertsing methods and apply them to your "residual income" product or program.....let's say that you only make 3 sales a week average (come on...you could do better than that!!)...accounting for 144 "residual income sales" for the year...OK..check my math...lol (3 sales x 52 weeks = 144 sales x $48.50 x 52 weeks = $83,808.00)....and that's all from "one product"....promote a few other quality products or programs....and see what happens!!

OK...on one hand we have "one time sales"...netting us a tidy sum of $20,748.00 a year......on the other hand, we have "residual income sales"...netting us a hefty $83,808.00 a year. Same promotion methods, same time & effort put into it all, but with different results. Residual Income created less actual sales, but greater long term results. And that's not even taking into account for any 2nd tier "sub-affiliates" you gain along the way, earning percentages from their sales....

What side of that do you want to be on?

Another angle on all this can be....your one time sale from clickbank, is limited primarily to internet marketers who would benefit from the program or product. But, many items that offer you a residual income, such as autoresponders or article submission services, can be marketed to a much wider range of potential customers (Real Estate Brokers & Agents, Resturants, Insurance Companies, Doctors / Dentists....even your local deli who needs to send out his lunch specials to various offices & businesses needs an autoresponder, all opening up your field of play in "off-line" sales. Try sendng your Insurnace Broker your sales page for "Ewen Chia's Autopilot Profits" and he will look at you like...WTF is this? How am I going to benefit from this?
Try Sending your sales page for AWeber or GetResponce, I bet he will look at it as a way that he can make his business better & increase his profits.
One Time Sales are a Good Thing!! There's definately is a place for them in Internet Marketing & many have done VERY well with them. But for the average marketer...it's a very tough living.
All I am saying here is, Use one time sales....promote your little heart out with them, but use them as a "fill in" for your "residual income" affiliates. Take the time to really understand your product or program....no matter if it's one time sales or residual income opportunities, My bet is you will increase your bottom line & yearly profits.

Just my opinion of course....
